Kane's sword met the scythe's edge with a deafening clash, holy energy colliding with the dark power radiating from the creature. Sparks flew, but in an instant, Kane's sword blazed with divine light as he countered with a powerful slash, cleaving the Death Warden in two and ending it in a single stroke.
It wasn't surprising that the Death Warden fell so quickly, given Kane's abilities. As a Royal Guard, Kane is at the peak of the Transcendent rank—a level that follows the Mortal rank and comprises fifty tiers. The Death Warden, though formidable as a Tier XIII creature in the Mortal rank, was simply outmatched. Royal Guards of the Chronos family are among the finest in the Nexus Alliance, with skills and expertise that allow them to swiftly dispatch even powerful dungeon foes, much less this mob.
