"Ada! Have you no shame? Today is a day off!" Freya's face looked unpleasant, glaring at the person speaking as if she were a small cat with its fur standing on end.
Anna turned around, finally seeing who it was. It was a slender woman wearing a duckbill cap and a face mask. A hint of sharpness flashed in her slender almond-shaped eyes as she unexpectedly raised her eyebrows upon seeing Anna.
Is that Ada? Anna was slightly surprised. Ada used to be a rising star in the company, taking the path of a talented singer just like Anna. However, back then, Ada was always overshadowed by Anna. When Anna was in the company, Ada always called her "Sister Anna".
Times change, Anna understood this principle, so she didn't mind.
"Oh, isn't this Sister Anna? Isn't it time for you to stay at home and take care of your family? Why are you out looking for Freya?" Ada's eyes were smiling, but her words were full of sarcasm. She was just out for a stroll and didn't expect to run into Freya and Anna.
Before Anna could say anything, Freya got angry first.
"Ada! Mind your own business! It's not a workday today, so stop being so sarcastic! Anna, let's go! There's a crazy dog barking here, it's affecting our mood." After saying this, Freya picked up Cicc, took Anna's hand, and prepared to leave.
But Ada unexpectedly stepped in front of them, her eyes somewhat gloomy. She looked at Anna with a raised eyebrow and smiled.
"Oh! Anna, why have you become so thin? Are things not going well for you? If things are tough, just tell your little sister, I might be able to help. After all, I'm so kind-hearted. Look at Freya, she's now working under me. Isn't life great for her? Right, Freya?"
Freya's face turned red with anger, but she remained silent, staring at Ada.
Anna suddenly turned her head and looked at Freya with disbelief. Freya was supposed to be working as an assistant for someone else, wasn't she? How could the company let Freya do this kind of work? Just as it wasn't the time to ask questions, Anna turned her head and looked at Ada with anger in her eyes. Her fists clenched tightly. It was one thing to bully herself, but bullying Freya was unacceptable.
But before she could speak, Freya spoke up first.
"My contract with the company expires at the end of the month. At that time, I will naturally resign. I just hope that someone won't climb too high, only to fall harder!"
"If Anna returns to work, I'm afraid someone will have nightmares!"
Ada was stunned for a moment. She did have some shadow of Anna in her heart. After all, Anna had overshadowed her for a year and a half. Who knew her during that time?
But Ada quickly laughed. She looked at Anna with a disdainful gaze.
"Return to work? Haha, that's the funniest joke I've ever heard. Which company would sign a washed-up artist like you, Anna, who's dragging a child along?"
"Speaking of the child, Anna! Your child looks pretty good. You might consider grooming her to be the next hot young star."
As Ada spoke, her face was full of disdain. She even forgot herself and wanted to pinch Cicc's little face.
"Stop it!"
"Stop! Get your filthy hands off her! I promise you, if you dare touch her, you won't have a place to cry!"
Two voices sounded simultaneously. One was Anna's, and the other was from the entrance of the milk tea shop. It was Louis, his eyes filled with fierceness, holding three ice creams in his hand, bought for Anna and the other two.
Louis walked quickly to Anna, handed the ice cream to the three of them, then faced Ada, shielding Anna and Cicc behind him, his voice cold.
"Who are you?"
Ada was taken aback, and her body involuntarily took two steps back. Louis's angry aura was quite overwhelming.
But she composed herself and looked closely at Louis. Suddenly, she laughed. So, it was this little white face, this useless waste.
"I wonder who it is. It turns out to be you. What? Do you still want to fight in public?"
Louis furrowed his brows and turned to look at Anna, his eyes filled with questions, obviously asking Anna where this shrew had come from.
"It's... It's a singer from the previous company. I didn't expect to meet her here." Louis was angry. Perhaps others weren't afraid of him, but Anna was somewhat scared. When she saw Louis looking at her, she lowered her head slightly. Seeing Anna like this, Louis's eyebrows furrowed even tighter, and he sighed inwardly. He didn't ask Anna further, turning his head to stare down at Ada.
"A singer? Sorry, I haven't heard of you, and I don't know you. I only know that you're blocking our way now. Please move aside." Louis said earnestly, his words impeccable. However, they sounded piercing to Ada's ears, so her voice became even sharper.
"Heh! A person should know their place! Do you think I don't know? You suck up to Liam and Ethan from the Flower Boys group every day, buying them drinks all the time. Now you're pretending to be a good person here!"
Liam? Ethan? Louis carefully thought about these two names and finally remembered who they were. They were former members of the boy band the original owner belonged to. After leaving the group, the original owner wanted to make a comeback and often drank with them, trying to ingratiate himself with them, but they ignored him. But what does that have to do with me, Louis?
"I'm not familiar with those two people you mentioned! Thanks! A good dog doesn't block the road. If you keep bothering us, don't blame me for calling security!"
As the largest commercial square in New York City, the plaza certainly wouldn't tolerate anyone causing trouble here. Ada was choked up. She glared fiercely at Louis and cursed him in her heart, but she obediently moved aside.
Louis pulled up Anna behind him, gesturing for Freya to follow, and walked straight out. However, as he passed by Ada, she suddenly spoke to Anna again.
"Ah, it's a pity, someone can't sing anymore! Anna, my new song will be released by HuaYin at the end of this month! Haha!" After saying this, Ada laughed happily.
How can you compare yourself to me, Anna? Ada's malicious voice echoed in the ears of the few people present. Freya wished she could slap her right now. Knowing that Anna loved to sing and couldn't sing anymore, saying such things was simply heartless!
Louis's steps also paused for a moment. He glanced deeply at Ada, then continued to walk outside expressionlessly. Anna didn't say anything, just pursed her lips lightly.
However, at this moment, a childish voice suddenly rang out, clear and firm.
"You bad auntie, your singing definitely won't be as good as my mom's!"
