Chapter 133 - Chapter 133: Space Beasts

Vanishing from his room through the screen, Chen Yu reappeared on a dark, deserted road.

Looking up at the sky, the moonlight was obscured by dark clouds, giving Chen Yu a bad feeling in this dim environment.

"Since this sub-world is Nexus's world, it's the most likely scenario for Space Beasts to appear."

Space Beasts thrive in darkness, feeding on human fear and various negative emotions to enhance their own power.

What makes Space Beasts more formidable than monsters is not just their resilience but also their ability to learn.

This ability allows them to pass on their experiences to all their kind upon death!

With the sky darkened and no streetlights on this remote road, Chen Yu took out a high-powered flashlight from his storage space and proceeded along the road.

He didn't summon his spaceship because he saw a light ahead, which probably meant there were people nearby.

Reaching the light source, Chen Yu found a gas station by the roadside.

The gas station attendant was dozing off at the desk, understandably so, as there wouldn't be many customers at this late hour. Drowsing seemed a better option than staying idle.

Chen Yu didn't want to wake the attendant abruptly. Instead, he walked into the convenience store, grabbed a bottle of water, and started drinking.

Then, he took a stool, sat in front of the gas station, and waited quietly.

Before long, a truck drove into the station.

The driver jumped down from the truck and waved at Chen Yu: "Young man, fill her up!"

"Right, you too!"

Chen Yu waved back at the driver, smiling.

Driver: "..."

"I mean, come over and fill up my truck, what are you talking about?" the driver was confused and approached the fuel nozzle, "If you won't do it, I'll do it myself!"

"I don't work here," Chen Yu said helplessly, "You need to wake that guy up if you want fuel."

"This..."

The driver was momentarily embarrassed.

The attendant, surprisingly, hadn't woken up from their conversation and was still fast asleep.

It wasn't until the driver approached the attendant and shouted loudly that the young man finally woke up groggily and went to fill the tank, yawning.

"Uncle, on your way here, did you see anything unusual?"

Chen Yu handed a drink to the driver waiting by the side and asked.

The driver, not shy, took the drink, opened it, and drank: "Nothing unusual. I take this road every day, everything's normal."

"What, are you investigating paranormal activities?" the driver looked at Chen Yu oddly, "At your age, you shouldn't be wasting your prime years. Learning a trade to make a living is the path you should take."

"You're right, uncle. I'm not here for any paranormal investigation, just asking."

Chen Yu nodded, finding the driver to be quite warm-hearted.

However, after taking a few sips of the drink, the driver mentioned: "My truck might be acting up. I filled it up yesterday, but it's consuming fuel way too quickly. I'll have to get it checked when it's light out."

"Fuel consumption too quick?" Chen Yu's alertness spiked upon hearing this.

Space Beasts, apart from feeding on human fear, also consume gasoline, alcohol, and the like.

"What's wrong, kid, can you fix it? If you can fix it well, I'll pay you for the repairs."

The driver looked at Chen Yu.

But Chen Yu shook his head and approached the sleepy attendant.

At that moment, a thick, dark purple liquid suddenly oozed out from under the truck.

Seeing this, Chen Yu quickly pulled the attendant aside and dragged him next to the driver.

Before the still-confused attendant could protest, and before the driver could scream, they saw the dark purple liquid coalesce into a slug-like monster.

The slug-like beast, moving rapidly, charged towards the three.

"Don't come any closer!"

The attendant shouted in fear.

Chen Yu quickly took out a laser gun from his bracelet and fired at the approaching slug, scattering it into droplets that fell to the ground.

The laser gun, purchased at a Galactic Exchange, was chosen for its top-tier power, considering potential encounters with aliens and monsters.

The attendant and the driver, still in shock, watched the liquid dissipate on the ground, then ran towards the dark road.

"Hey, don't run!" Chen Yu shouted after them, "If there are more of these creatures on the dark road, you won't make it!"

Hearing Chen Yu's warning, they stopped in their tracks.

Indeed, staying near Chen Yu, who could deal with such monsters, was the safest option.

They returned to Chen Yu's side, not questioning where the gun came from.

In such situations, people react instinctively, with adrenaline coursing through their bodies.

Chen Yu kept a vigilant eye on their surroundings, noticing the dark purple liquid on the ground beginning to coalesce again.

Soon, a larger slug monster appeared before them.

Without hesitation, Chen Yu fired again, hitting the Space Beast's head.

With a snap, the slug dissolved into liquid once more.

Before it could reassemble, Chen Yu fired several more shots into the liquid, completely evaporating it and leaving a residue on the ground.

Realizing they were at a gas station, the attendant finally grasped the danger they were in had the laser misfired.

Suddenly, a series of air currents descended from the sky, and several uniquely shaped fighter jets landed on the ground.

A few individuals in deep blue uniforms emerged from the jets, guns in hand, aiming at Chen Yu.

"Confirming the Space Beast is dead."

One of them scanned the remains of the Space Beast on the ground and spoke.

"Put down your weapon and identify yourself."

Another uniformed figure, while aiming at Chen Yu, shouted.
