Daichi's successful one-shot kill of Melba with the ray gun shocked Chen Yu. If an Ultraman were to fight, it would take a while to defeat Melba, given the monster's high alertness towards Ultramen of similar size. However, for such a small human, monsters don't usually perceive any threat, let alone prepare any defense. They would never expect such a small being to release such a powerful beam!
"Success!"
Delighted at the scene, Daichi then aimed his Spacium Ray Gun at Golza, the spike-incarnate, and pulled the trigger.
The Spacium Ray, once again launched from Daichi's gun, forced him a couple of steps back due to the recoil, but he managed to hold the gun steady. The beam hit Golza's chest, but to Daichi's surprise, Golza absorbed the Spacium Ray!
"How can this be!" Daichi was baffled. "The beam has no effect on Golza?"
"Didn't you have data on Golza? Indeed, Golza has the ability to absorb beams," Chen Yu informed Daichi.
"Is this also recorded by your ancestors?" Daichi asked Chen Yu, puzzled.
"Uh... sort of," Chen Yu hesitated, then nodded. He couldn't very well say he'd seen it on TV.
However, this Golza was no ordinary one; it was Golza with the Flames of Agul, predominantly blue, as if engulfed in blue flames, muscular and strong-looking.
Golza, having absorbed the Spacium Ray energy, turned towards Daichi and launched a light bomb from its head directly at Daichi and Chen Yu.
They quickly dodged aside. The ground where they stood was shattered by the explosion, covering both Daichi and Chen Yu in dust and debris.
It was Golza's light bomb that caught Gargorgon's attention.
When Gargorgon saw Chen Yu, it stopped in its tracks and turned to approach him.
Dusting himself off, Chen Yu stood up, puzzled as Gargorgon made its way directly towards him.
"Run, Chen Yu!" Daichi exclaimed upon seeing Gargorgon approaching. "Gargorgon is coming this way!"
"Hold on!" Chen Yu reassured Daichi. "This guy suddenly changed direction and seems to have locked onto me!"
"Locked onto you?!" Daichi exclaimed, shocked. "Could it recognize you as the heir of light?!"
"Very possible!" Chen Yu nodded. "If this guy wants to fight, then let's give it a try!"
"You mean you want to..."
Daichi's eyes widened as he stared at Chen Yu.
"Exactly, I'm going alone!"
Pulling out a gleaming Spark Lance from his coat, Chen Yu pressed the transformation button as Gargorgon took a step forward.
Bathed in endless light, Chen Yu's form surged through a tunnel of light and landed a punch on Gargorgon's abdomen, sending it flying.
Golza, seeing Ultraman Tiga appear, charged at Chen Yu, aiming to assist Gargorgon in battle.
"So Chen Yu was telling the truth..." Daichi watched in amazement, "The Ultraman he transformed into looks exactly like the statue in the pyramid!"
Meanwhile, Daichi's communicator buzzed with Captain Shimizu's voice: "The search team has used an excavator at the pyramid and found the blue stone."
"Great, captain, please have the stone brought to the battle site!" Daichi responded eagerly. "And, is the Tiga statue still there?"
"It's still there," Shimizu replied. "You're wondering why Tiga appeared but the statue didn't disappear, right?"
"Exactly." Daichi nodded, puzzled. Normally, the Tiga statue would vanish upon Tiga's arrival, yet it remained.
Regardless, at least now they had an Ultraman to confront the monsters. Although Xio had advanced technology and powerful weapons, facing monsters required the strength of an Ultraman to keep the battle on equal footing.
Gargorgon slowly rose, eyeing Chen Yu and unleashing a hellish laugh.
Chen Yu knew Gargorgon must have harbored deep resentment for Tiga and the original Ultraman for sealing it in the pyramid for so long. It would surely attack him ferociously next.
Golza was the first to charge, and Chen Yu, adopting a cosmic martial arts stance, launched a fierce assault. Despite his efforts, Golza's thick hide and muscular body absorbed the blows without significant damage, merely retreating slightly.
The Xio jets in the sky took the opportunity to distract Golza, allowing Chen Yu to focus on Gargorgon. As Gargorgon swung its clubbed tail, Chen Yu switched to Tiga's Power Type, blocking the attack with his superior strength.
Admitting Gargorgon's formidable nature, Chen Yu managed to push back and deliver rapid punches to its abdomen, forcing Gargorgon to retreat. However, despite the vigorous attack, Gargorgon seemed unscathed, posing a challenge for Chen Yu with its high defense.
