Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Gargorgon's Purpose

Chen Yu hadn't expected that, with the deviation in the world's trajectory, the stone capable of transforming someone into the original Ultraman would also be buried in the ruins. This corresponded to the instance description, where Ultraman and Ultraman Tiga failed to appear on time.

However, without the support of Tiga and the original Ultraman, the battle would become more challenging.

"Why don't we go back and search for that stone?" Chen Yu suggested. "That stone is a crucial item connecting the light of heaven and earth. Without it, it might be difficult to summon another Ultraman warrior."

"Hmm?" Daichi found some blind spots in Chen Yu's words.

Another Ultraman warrior, implying that in addition to Ultraman Tiga, another Ultraman should also appear to fight.

Adding himself and X, that would make three Ultraman warriors, which should be sufficient to handle Gargorgon.

Of course, X's device had been sealed, and they would need to seek Dr. Guruman of the Planet Vandon for repairs.

"If that stone is indeed so important, we can indeed dispatch a team to search for it, but whether we can find it is another matter," Captain Shinnosuke nodded and responded to Chen Yu.

"Every possibility adds to our chances of victory," Chen Yu likewise nodded and said, "Thank you for your efforts."

Soon, Captain Shinnosuke made the arrangements. However, he didn't send Xio's main members on the search; such tasks were typically delegated to logistics.

Yet, Chen Yu quickly considered another issue.

In the original story, Gargorgon pursued the stone to the city, aiming to destroy it.

Now that the stone was buried beneath the ruins, would Gargorgon still come to the city?

The alarm in the hall soon answered Chen Yu's question.

Yes!

Gargorgon was detected deep underground, moving towards the city center, the location of the Xio base.

Chen Yu wondered why Gargorgon would head straight for the Xio base when none of them possessed what Gargorgon sought.

Looking at the backpack that the young boy, Yuuto, was always carrying, Chen Yu guessed it might contain a Light Stick encased in mud and stone!

Could Gargorgon's target be the Light Stick?

After all, in the original storyline, Gargorgon could sense the light waves from the stone, and now it should be able to sense the Light Stick's waves too.

"Yuuto," Chen Yu approached the boy, crouching down with a smile, and asked, "What's in your bag?"

Hearing someone inquire about the contents of his backpack excited Yuuto.

He eagerly opened it and began showing Chen Yu: "This is a piece of a spaceship that came to Earth long ago, these are jewels from the Inca Empire, and this, a fragment of a ceramic pig mosquito coil holder..."

Pretending to be interested, Chen Yu nodded along until Yuuto had emptied his bag, but Chen Yu didn't see the stone rod he was hoping to find.

"Big brother, you seem disappointed?"

Yuuto noticed the expression on Chen Yu's face and asked, puzzled.

Chen Yu quickly waved his hand, smiling, "Not at all. It's impressive that Yuuto has collected so many great things at such a young age... By the way, Yuuto, have you ever seen an ancient hammer? Or a mallet?"

"An ancient hammer?" Yuuto scratched his head, glanced at his now-empty backpack, and said, "No, these are all the collectibles I have."

Hearing Yuuto's reply, Chen Yu was momentarily surprised.

Was the Light Stick not with Yuuto in this world?

Then what was Gargorgon's purpose in heading towards the XIO base? Surely it wasn't just to pursue them?

If that were the case, it could have finished them off when it defeated X, rather than pursuing them now.

"Could it be that Gargorgon is after Yuuto himself!"

Realizing this, Chen Yu looked at Yuuto with a curious gaze.

If Gargorgon truly had an interest in Yuuto, it might be because of Yuuto's ability to transform into Tiga.

The special gene or energy within Yuuto emitted an intangible wave, attracting Gargorgon.

"Why is this monster heading towards our base? Could it be because of something inside our base that attracts monsters?" Deputy Captain Tachibana asked, looking at the screen with confusion.

Everyone was puzzled, trying to figure out why Gargorgon was pursuing them.

"Could it be that Gargorgon knows I can unify with X and came to finish me off?" Daichi pondered but quickly dismissed the idea.

If Gargorgon wanted, it could have easily done so without leaving, rather than chasing them now.

"No matter what, we at Xio need to take action," Deputy Captain Tachibana declared, "Let's move, stop Gargorgon's advance, and try to blast it out from underground."

Intercepting Gargorgon became Xio's next task.

Leaving the hall, Chen Yu and the others followed Daichi to Dr. Guruman's lab.

At that moment, Dr. Guruman was studying the images of the Tiga statue that Asuna had sent over on a virtual screen.

Dr. Guruman was no ordinary scientist; almost all of X's cards, used by X, were made by him.

He could even replicate the Parajium Shield summoned by Zero for time-space travel.

Approaching Dr. Guruman, Daichi explained the current situation.

After thoroughly examining the X device, Dr. Guruman confirmed it had indeed lost its original capabilities.

"Why not just give X a new device to inhabit if X doesn't live in the device itself?" Dr. Guruman suggested while inspecting.

Hearing this, Daichi paused, realizing he could indeed provide X with a new device, not necessarily limited to this one.

In a moment of urgency, Daichi shouted into the X device but received no response.

"X isn't responding to me," Daichi sighed, "It seems we can't give X a new device."

"Don't worry, if the connection between heaven and earth's light appears, X's seal should be lifted automatically," Chen Yu comforted Daichi.

If worse comes to worst, Chen Yu was ready to step in. Although he might not defeat Gargorgon directly, stalling for time should be feasible.
