Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Rescue

The driver and his accomplices weren't foolish, but since Chen Yu had already said so, they saw no reason not to take his kidneys if freely offered.

After Chen Yu falsely informed them that he had hidden the jade in the forest south of the market, he was taken away by the remaining gang members.

Chen Yu's statement was a lie, of course. His real intention was to see how these people went about their grim business of organ theft.

To be honest, Chen Yu had prepared himself for the possibility of being targeted by criminals in Kidney Country, but whether or not they would succeed in harming him remained to be seen.

Since Chen Yu did not resist, the criminals did not see him as a threat and merely led him with knives drawn towards a certain direction.

Passing through the dense forest, Chen Yu then saw a pink building.

This building looked ordinary, but Chen Yu's keen observation revealed many armed criminals standing guard around it.

After entering the building, Chen Yu was taken to the sixth floor.

While ascending the stairs, Chen Yu noticed many Daxians with listless spirits.

Clearly, these people had endured terrible suffering here.

Although they were allowed a certain degree of movement, they couldn't step out of the building.

In the room, the same few knife-wielding criminals who had captured Chen Yu were waiting for a call from the driver. If the jade wasn't found in the forest south of the market, they planned to proceed with harvesting Chen Yu's kidneys.

Of course, even if the jade was found, Chen Yu's fate wouldn't be much better.

Having observed the building during his ascent, Chen Yu noted the heavy guard presence but the absence of surveillance cameras.

After all, they were involved in illicit activities that couldn't withstand scrutiny, and in this lawless area, it was unlikely anyone would investigate.

Realizing there were no cameras, Chen Yu decided it was time to take action.

He exhaled deeply, focusing his gaze on the closest criminal.

Fighting monsters had been routine for him, but this was his first time confronting humans in such a manner.

After a brief preparation, Chen Yu moved instantly, landing a punch in the stomach of the nearest criminal, incapacitating him.

In the next second, Chen Yu grabbed the dropped machete and without looking, threw it backward, hitting one of the approaching criminals and knocking him down.

Activating his cosmic martial arts, Chen Yu's fists landed on the blades of two other attackers, sending their machetes flying.

Effortlessly, Chen Yu neutralized all the criminals in the room.

Leaving one alive to spread the word, he intended to lure the rest of the criminals out and eliminate them.

These criminals, engaged in extreme cruelty and operating within Kidney Country, posed no moral dilemma for Chen Yu.

Perhaps becoming an Ultraman had broadened his perspective, or perhaps after defeating so many monsters, dealing with these inhuman criminals felt insignificant.

Footsteps echoed from the corridor.

Chen Yu used a quilt to block the window and hid by the wall.

Ensuring no one knew what had happened inside would keep the element of surprise.

Placing the transformation stick on his chest, Chen Yu activated the transformation button.

Instantly, his body was enveloped in light, transforming into the silver, purple, and red Ultraman Tiga.

When several criminals broke into the room and saw Chen Yu, they hesitated for a moment before pulling the triggers of their firearms.

The bullets hit Chen Yu but did nothing more than tickle him.

With a casual wave, he shot out several light arrows, striking the intruders and resolving the immediate threat.

More footsteps approached, but the outcome remained the same, with all attackers falling to Chen Yu's light arrows.

Unable to see the source of the light from outside, the attackers were confused, leading one to throw a grenade into the room.

Chen Yu caught the grenade and threw it back out the door.

The explosion killed many criminals in the corridor, momentarily halting their advance.

Yet, driven by desperation, the criminals regrouped for a mass attack, hoping to overwhelm Chen Yu with gunfire.

"Charge!"

At the command, a wave of gunmen stormed in, opening fire without understanding the situation.

Chen Yu, with energy gathered in his hands, unleashed it, ending the confrontation decisively.

With his gaze slightly glowing, Chen Yu surveyed the building with his Ultraman powers, deactivating his transformation once he deemed the threat neutralized.

Only two guards remained, easily dealt with by Chen Yu even without his Ultraman powers. To avoid recognition, he donned sunglasses, a hat, and a mask.

Armed with a gun, he made his way to the corner of the sixth floor and efficiently eliminated the guards.

His time in the Land of Light had not been wasted; firearms training was a mandatory part of becoming an Ultraman and joining Earth's defense forces.

Using keys obtained from the guards, Chen Yu unlocked the iron door to the sixth floor, where he found rooms full of people who had suffered terribly.

Some had their kidneys harvested, others were drained of blood to the point of pallor.

Seeing Chen Yu outside the window, none showed any emotion.

Pushing open a door, Chen Yu entered, causing the room's occupants to tense up, anticipating their own misfortune.

"Let's go. I've taken care of those guys. You can go home now."

Chen Yu's announcement was met with disbelief; none dared move, fixated on him.

Past tests by the criminals had conditioned them: anyone leaving would disappear forever.

Seeing no response, Chen Yu's anger flared at the criminals' inhumanity.

Knowing persuasion was futile, he raised his gun, threatening to fire if they didn't leave.

This prompted a scared reaction, and after a warning shot into the ceiling, everyone screamed and rushed out the door.
