Under the dim light of the burning candle, Eutiquio's fingers stroked the delicate curves of Cresencia's face. It was an affectionate touch that conveyed both devotion and longing for Cresencia. A silent gratitude of unspoken promises and intense feelings took place between them as their gazes locked, giving the impression that the room was holding its breath.

"Do you love me?" Despite its gentleness, Eutiquio's voice bore the weight of his aspirations and worries regardless of its softness.

As she reaffirmed her commitment, Cresencia's response came almost instantly, and her voice remained steady as she said, "I do. With every part of my being."

When Eutiquio, whose heart was filled with multiple feelings of love and anxiety, talked of his deepest wants, there was a noticeable rigidity in the air. He exclaimed, "I don't want us to be separated ever again, my love."
