The danger within the vicinity was low, but this did not comfort Acceber. Drake guarded the villa till dawn. Russel occupied Marcus's room, next to Drake's room. At the same time, Acceber slept in Drake's room.
Drake sat on the bed next to Acceber, leaning against the headboard. He brought the computer to monitor all the CCTV cameras around, within, and outside the villa. Luckily, the villa had generators and solar panels, so the monitoring systems weren't damaged. He silently watched other people's cruelty, whether they were healthy, sick, infected, or mutated.
Tonight, he was not expecting his mate to propose to sleep in his room with him in it. From his observations, she should not be a person who is afraid of the apocalypse or the zombies killing people mindlessly. He did not doubt that she could protect herself well and fight handsomely. He guessed she might be as strong as him, too.
