Chapter 17: Mana Manipulation!
Draco looked at his status and asked: "What's with the new stats? You added the boosts or something?"
[Yes, to make it easier for you to know how powerful you are, Host.]
"Why didn't you add it earlier?"
[... Technical Difficulties, Host.]
"Uh? ... Whatever. Expand mana skills."
[Roger Host]
[<----------Mana-Skills---------->]
<[Mana Usage(Lvl2)], [Lesser Mana Reinforcement(Lvl2) - 20% Physical Boost, 10MP/Min], [Lesser Mana Regeneration(Lvl2) - +1% MP/Min], [Mana Manipulation(Lvl1)]>
[<----------------------------------->]
"Hmm, I know what to do next. Creating spells is a must when you come to another world, but before that, I feel like I am missing something." Draco looked at his mana skills and then at his status, especially his HP, stamina, and MP sections.
"I know, system. I want to buy a stamina regen; also, is it possible to spend skill points to level up skills directly?"
[Negative, host! You cannot use skill points to level up skills currently; please upgrade the system to unlock this function.]
[Skill [Lesser Stamina Regeneration(Lvl1)] Purchased! -15 Skill Points]
[Skill [Lesser Stamina Regeneration] Evolved Into [Medium Stamina Stamina Regeneration(Lvl2) - +2% Stamina/Min]
"Alright, let's see, Mana." Draco closed his eyes and concentrated deeply on trying to connect with his mana, which was very easy for him to do.
Feeling the mana in his body, he quickly tapped on it, withdrawing it outside of his palm in the form of strings made up of mana.
"Now, What should I make for my first spell? Heh, not even a question." Draco grinned evilly, his racial trait unconsciously showing up. He controlled his string-like mana to turn in circles.
String after string, they rotated in his palm, trying to form a sphere as he imagined the effects of his first spell.
'A Mana Ball, I want it to be fast to create, rapid to shoot, and lethal for my enemies; it should explode upon contact. Should I add an affinity? No, let's make it basic and use it as a reference for future spells with affinities.' He thought.
A few seconds later, the mana strings successfully turned into a glowing blue ball that was the size of an infant orc's thigh—I mean, a fine woman's bosso- I mean, a basketball.
'What's wrong with me?' Draco thought as his strange sense of size caught him by surprise.
'Anyway, It's about done now; let's see, where should I shoot it.' He looked around; he didn't want to hurt the big tree so he just shot it at another one outside the barrier.
*Fwsh* *Boom*
"Oh... That was fast! I almost couldn't follow it." Draco was so surprised by his new Spell's speed that he almost forgot everything else he had to judge about it.
[Ding! Congratulations on creating your first spell skill, host!]
[You've Created The Skill [Mana Ball(Lvl1) - Form A Ball With Your Mana And Launch it At Your Enemies At Insane Speed Dealing 1% Of Your Total Int, -5 MP Cost.]
[Achievement Unlocked [Making Spells Is This Easy?!] - Create Your First Spell - +25% Boost To All Stats.]
[You've Gained The Title [Spell Creator(F-Rank) - Create At Least 1 Spell - +10% Magic Dmg, +10% Magic Defense, +25 Int]
"Oh, That's so Cool! I got another round of boosts, Wait... Now that I think about it, Achievements and Titles are also a good way for me to gain strength... I should pay more attention to them and try to unlock new ones or evolve previous ones." He thought aloud.
"By the way, what's with the ding? You trying to sound more system-like? Draco was surprised by the system's constant, whatchama call it, personality improvements?
[It's Necessary Improvements, Host! To Assert Dominance.]
"Assert Dominance, My Ass! You're just annoying me with the ding." Draco rolled his eyes and retorted.
"Tsk, Anyway. Let's see now, what spell should I make next? Of course, a Barrier!" Draco grinned before he used the same [Mana Ball] skill but this time instead of launching it, he manipulated it to expand all around him.
He imagined it to be invisible, hard, and firm, it shouldn't hurt him and not let anyone do it.
It should get stronger the more mana he puts in it and stay active all along, Though it shouldn't waste mana passively and continuously. If possible once it gets mana it should revolve around him protectively till it defends enough damage to break.
And he succeeded, but this time it took a minute or two to finish. After he was done, he had to put his mana into it to further strengthen it.
*Fshh*
Draco's still pure blue mana exploded out from all around his body and the barrier greedily absorbed it until there were only a few points of MP left from his 8736.
[You've Created The Skill [Mana Barrier(Lvl1) - Form A Barrier With Your Mana And Protect Yourself From Your Enemies. 10 MP Cost/Barrier HP.]
"Phew, This is good enough for now, but, once My MP is recharged, I will strengthen it again, Let's see now." Draco was thinking what spell he should make next, but then, he remembered that he wasted all of his mana.
"I was too hasty, dammit. What do I do now?" he regretted quickly.
[I can suggest some skills you can make using Mana Manipulation, and you can decide what to do once your MP regenerates.]
"Don't you have some potions in your shop?"
[Not yet, Host.]
"Urgh, Alright, bring it on."
[Roger, Host! To start, let's simply start with skills you already have and how you can use mana to amplify them or redirect them, For example, [Mana Reinforcement] can be used to strengthen one organ or specific body part instead of the whole body. For example, your eyes to create the skill [Mana Vision], your legs for [Speed Amplification], your arms for [Explosive Strength], or your brain for [Brain Amplification].]
"Yeah, that's very useful. Thinking about it like this, I can also use mana to amplify basic regenerations, like HP regen or stamina; I believe I can't do the same for mana, right?" Draco sat down cross-legged, put his hand on his chin and contemplated.
[Affirmative, Host! however, you can meditate, try to sense mana, and then absorb it, although it won't be as useful as an actual technique, it can still help depending on your talent.]
"Oh, interesting. Bring it on!" He grinned.
