Gu Ran opened his eyes.
It was pitch black, not a speck of light. This was the bedroom.

He closed his eyes, and three seconds later, he opened them, puzzled. Something outside the window seemed to be watching him.
"Open the curtains," he said.
"Okay," the smart system activated.
As soon as the curtains were slightly opened, moonlight crept in, and when they were half-open, Gu Ran saw a black bird.
It was like a shadow of a bird.
Gu Ran sat up, clapped his hands excitedly, his face alight with enthusiasm.
This was a dream!
