He Qingyan didn't think much of it and grabbed a bottle of water from the small coffee table, unscrewing the cap and starting to drink.
"That is..." Gu Ran started to say something but stopped.
Chen Ke had taken her own water bottle out, and the one in He Qingyan's hand had been drunk from by Gu Ran.
Gu Ran had thought it was another one of He Qingyan's jokes—knowing it was his water, yet still taking it to drink, but after she finished, he didn't see the teasing smile that should have been on her face.
The two of them actually had a rare moment of quiet.
'Given up?' Gu Ran thought.
If it were true, he felt a sense of relief but also a sense of regret; relieved that he wouldn't be teased anymore, and regretful for the very same reason.
But just like how children must go home after dark, unable to play with friends outside indefinitely, the jokes between him and He Qingyan had to come to an end eventually.
