Gu Ran had used various means of transportation up to this point:
Bicycles — ignored traffic lights and didn't care about traffic jams. During junior high, he cycled to school and competed with the boys, ranking first in the school. The only downside was the extreme heat in summer, the cold in winter, and looking like his face was pricked by needles in the rain;
Electric scooters — he borrowed them occasionally, didn't have one of his own, and they weren't as fast as his bicycle;
Buses — used for commuting to high school, once a month, surrounded by female classmates, which distracted him from reading, with their pushing, shouting, and incessant chatter, leading him to ride buses less often;
Subway — used for commuting outside the university, and his bicycle likely wasn't as fast as the subway.
Therefore, when he was at the airport, Gu Ran revived the spirit he had the first time he took the subway, quietly following behind and observing how others rode it.
