"I've got something to do when I get back," Kiyomi Liuli casually replied, wondering, "Mom, why're you calling me?"
Kiyomi Koko was silent for a moment, then said irritably, "To see if you're dead yet!"
She was exasperated, her eldest daughter had become so independent. Ever since her last visit, getting a check-in call from her had become a rare occurrence, and trying to hear her daughter's voice over the phone was even harder. Sometimes, even at eleven o'clock at night, no one would answer— if it weren't for the housewives in Higashitama Town often seeing Kiyomi Liuli following Nanahara Takeshi around, she might've thought her daughter had been kidnapped.
Kiyomi Liuli ducked her head and muttered under her breath, "Why start yelling at me out of the blue? I haven't done anything to make you mad."
Kiyomi Koko didn't dwell on this matter too long, figuring they could settle accounts later. She changed the subject and asked, "You're on summer vacation now, aren't you?"
