Hirarano Police Station's basement level had a quarter of its space dedicated to the armory, which stored a certain amount of firearms, ammunition, and police equipment, also available for officers for deposit and maintenance of their weapons. The remaining three-quarters were warehouse space, used solely for the archiving of past case files and evidence.
There, gusts of chilly draft blew through, the air damp and cold, silence enveloping the space. The walls felt slightly slick to the touch, which made sense as the temporary morgue of the police station was just one floor below. It always felt haunted, and even the lights were dim, as if they were smeared with a layer of human fat, casting a dismal, yellowish hue.
