I wondered what Lady Genevieve had to say to Emily, but it couldn't have been anything bad. After all, she had been the one to discover her, and call for help.
Raymond had insisted it wasn't thanks to her, but instead, it was thanks to him who had told Emily to find her. Had it been someone like Mandy, she could have left Lady Genevieve there. Emily had a choice to open the door after knocking, and she also had a choice to leave, and search elsewhere.
"Did you come with Emily?" John asked me, as I made to leave.
"Why do you ask?" I asked, and he gave a scoff.
"Mere curiosity."
"No."
"You didn't come with her?" He asked.
He continued, "Why do you always stay close to her? I mean, you guys are always together most of the time. What's going on between you both?" He asked me.
"I thought we were over this." I said, pressing the button of the elevator.
