There's something oddly poetic about staring out the same window every day, watching the same bird fly past at the same time. I used to find the monotonous routine of life suffocating; now I crave it. I'd kill to have mundane problems again—like spilling coffee on my blouse or running late to work. Instead, here I am, locked away in this gilded cage like some tragic fairy tale princess. Except my "prince" is a psychotic, power-hungry alpha who thinks love is just another word for control.
