Life in the collective dormitory was actually pretty interesting, with plenty of time to squander in the evenings. Although there were only over thirty trainees, if you include the staff, there had to be three to four hundred people, so you could say it was pretty lively at night.
Really, when it came down to it, the distance between young monks and ordinary people wasn't as great as one might think. Internet cafes on the base were filled with shouts of "triple kills", "someone's in the southeast direction", "top lane is collapsing", "D.Va's ult is ready", and various other roars of rage. Clearly strong players among the monks were sworn at until they fell silent because they sucked at playing the game.
On the base's lawn, some strummed guitars, others read books, and some played with their phones, either alone or in small groups; the atmosphere was quite nice, all things considered. Besides not being able to leave, the other guarantees of life were quite good.
