At dusk, in the back garden of the Gu Family Manor, tables were set up in the open space, with lanterns hanging around, brightening the entire garden.
The members of the Gu family took their seats one by one, and dishes for the evening banquet were served in succession, filling the garden with their fragrance.
Once everyone had arrived, Gu Changye led Lu Chuan to stand in the center, facing all the members of the Gu family.
"You should all understand in your hearts why I have arranged this banquet," he said.
