Merit points, aside from being used to create or enhance weapons and equipment, could also be used for complete transformation, much like the power of Supreme Demon Blood. When one possesses such a substance, in their native world, they could even become an immortal Supreme Demon with all the same characteristics.
Other materials could also strengthen oneself without any side effects, a transformation that was more worthwhile for the Dusk mercenaries to pursue than equipment enhancement or creation. However, this required even more merit points to achieve.
They could also use more merit points to further 'digest' the Supreme Demon Blood, disregarding the native immortality of their world's Supreme Demons, as long as they had the power.
Such immortality only functioned in their native world, yet including that aspect would nearly double the consumption of merit points, without any difference in combat strength, and it could even become a limitation.
