After spending a night there, Zheng Yichen found some new items in his storage locker the next day, which had been sent over by two additional witches. These items could be used to combat Evil Spirits, but their impact on an entire city was uncertain.
Nevertheless, they might be able to restore some normality to the inhabitants of the City of Evil Spirits, or at least spare the people there from some of the effects. That would be good enough.
Having received the new items, Zheng Yichen didn't linger and returned to Alice's place, where Rebecca seemed to be getting along well with her, although now Rebecca looked very haggard and worn out.
"Did you mistreat her? How did she end up like this?"
"I might be a bit morbid, but I don't make a habit of abusing people," Alice glanced at Zheng Yichen. "She was supposed to look like this; you should have noticed."
