They merely felt his gaze as shockingly intrusive, almost as if he could strip off their clothes and see what was underneath. They became somewhat uneasy, no longer exhibiting the bold, flirtatious demeanor they had when they first met, because they knew they still bore the weight of a special mission. This was the price they paid for being nurtured by their clan's resources from a young age. As for the man before them, he seemed to be a decent choice, certainly better than those pot-bellied, septuagenarian barons.
After retracting his gaze, Gaven asked, "How long will their training mission last?"
He needed to decide how much resources he should invest in their training based on how long he could use them. He did not want to invest in them only to have the Roinhein Clan pull them out just after he had done so. Although unlikely, it was still better to be clear about it.
