When he had first met him, Raymond sensed that Gaven was a man of great ambition, but he hadn't expected him to be so ambitious, not merely wanting to forge a migration route, but also intending to leave behind cities of his own along the way.
Raymond felt even more conflicted about this matter than he had when Gaven took away a large amount of potential tax revenue from Ruitawen.
For Ruitawen, there were both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage was that with such a city standing guard in front, they would become a completely safe inland territory, no longer needing to fight life-and-death battles against the Monster Tribe descending from the south of the Giant Plains.
It would also completely revitalize the northern section of the migration route, for without a city to guard it, even if they temporarily cleared the Giant Plains, it wouldn't take long before monsters refilled the area, making it impossible to establish trade routes.
