Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Out of Touch with Reality_1

"This child here, that's quite the bold claim," said an elderly voice from the neighboring private room.

A man in his fifties or sixties walked out, full of vigor, with bright eyes and an indescribable herbal fragrance emanating from him.

In the private room, there was also a beautiful woman accompanied by a young boy about five or six years old.

The beautiful woman turned her head to glance at Yin Tian and spoke, "Doctor Yu, perhaps it's just the eagerness of youth nowadays to make their mark."

Doctor Yu nodded and then addressed Yin Tian, "I have used this Six Spirits Cloud-Dispersing Soup for thirty years without a single mistake."

Yin Tian, without even lifting his head, responded directly, "Isn't the most crucial ingredient of the Six Spirits Cloud-Dispersing Soup the rootstock of Qingwei Zi aged for thirty years?"

"Correct," Doctor Yu replied, somewhat surprised.

"The flesh of Qingwei Zi is sour and sweet, while the core is bitter with a slight saltiness. When taken regularly with Lingzhi, it is beneficial; however, after sixty years, the rootstock of Qingwei Zi turns dark and toxic. If the elder's memory serves him well, he should detect a hint of sweetness in this Six Spirits Cloud-Dispersing Soup, which is due to the rootstock surpassing sixty years."

Yu Yang's father was stupefied.

Yin Tian continued, "A sixty-year-old Qingwei Zi is not poisonous in itself, but it counteracts with another herb in the soup, Astragalus. For adults, it might be harmless, but if a child ingests it, they might suffer convulsions and vomiting through the night."

"Doctor Yu, look at him, he speaks as if he knows what he's talking about," said the beautiful woman with a hint of contempt as she stood up.

But Yu Yang's father stood frozen in place, looking down at the bowl of soup in Yu Yang's hands, his brow furrowed.

"Let me have a taste."

Doctor Yu took a spoon and tasted it.

"This.... really is somewhat sweet."

Doctor Yu froze, then lifted his head and gave a rueful smile towards Yin Tian: "Thank you, young friend, for pointing this out. Indeed, there is something wrong with this soup."

Yu Yang stood by, completely flabbergasted.

To be able to detect a mistake in the preparation of the soup just by smelling it?

This was... incredibly unbelievable.

But before Yu Yang could recover from his shock, Yin Tian raised his head and glanced at the young boy next to the beautiful woman, "Does Doctor Yu wish to use this soup to treat the boy's lung-blood syndrome?"

By then, Doctor Yu had shed his pride and addressed Yin Tian with respect, "Yes, is there something inappropriate there?"

Yin Tian frowned, "The Six Spirits Cloud-Dispersing Soup indeed is the best cure for this illness. In at most half a year, there should be improvement...."

Hearing this, Doctor Yu somehow let out a sigh of relief.

He was about to speak when Yin Tian interrupted him.

"However, this child won't live for more than half a year."

Yin Tian's statement was startling.

"What do you mean by that, young sir?" Doctor Yu frowned, looking at Yin Tian.

"What's wrong with my baby?" the beautiful woman asked anxiously.

"Lung-blood syndrome is just a superficial symptom. Doctor Yu, look at the child's lifeless eyes, his dull pupils, and his yellowish nails. The real issue should be blood poisoning."

"Doctor Yu might want to check behind the boy's ear for any purple blood spots."

The beautiful woman went to the child and saw several sesame-sized purple blood spots behind his ear.

"It truly is blood poisoning," exclaimed Doctor Yu, then he looked at Yin Tian, his face full of shock.

"Young sir, do you know of a cure for this blood poisoning?"

From the initial address of "child" to "young friend" and now "young sir," it was evident that Doctor Yu's respect for Yin Tian had grown.

"Please, save my baby," the now panicking beautiful woman pleaded, no longer condescending as she looked to Yin Tian.

Yin Tian glanced at the little boy, then said to Yu Yang, "Fetch me some paper and a pen."

Once provided with the materials, Yin Tian wrote down a prescription for Doctor Yu, "Take this prescription for three days, and the purple spots behind the ears will fade. Then seek me out for acupuncture."

"This prescription... is miraculous!" Doctor Yu, who was rather knowledgeable, became excited upon seeing the prescription, gazing at Yin Tian with fervent admiration.

"Remember, do not take the child out excessively these three days, and avoid eggs, fish, and deer meat."

The beautiful woman listened to Yin Tian's words and nodded in thanks repeatedly.

After leaving his phone number and instructing Doctor Yu on how to use the medication, Yin Tian then returned to the Su Family private room.

Upon arriving at the Su Family's room, Yin Tian found that Taoist Li and Yang Yun had long since made themselves scarce.

Just as he sat down, a waiter knocked on the door.

"Mr. Yin, your dishes are ready."

The beautiful waitress promptly cleared the dishes that the Su Family had ordered and instead brought forth plates of delicacies.

Sea cucumber, lobster, king crab.

Black truffles, French foie gras, caviar.

And bottles of Moutai and Lafite, aged twenty years and above.

All were luxurious foods!

The Su Family members were all dumbstruck, looking at the sumptuous table of food, their eyes filled with disbelief.

"Yin Tian, our Su Family is not doing well financially, and yet you order such an extravagant meal. Let me tell you, we can't afford the bill!" Su Qinwei's cousin said through clenched teeth, "Even though Lin Yun Pavilion is owned by the Su Family, we still have to pay for our own meals!"

The others joined in the reproach, "Exactly! With the Su Family in such a state, you still indulge in luxury. Have you no shame?"

Only Yin Tian knew deep down that it must have been that beautiful woman who had ordered for him.

"Relax and enjoy your meal, someone else is treating," he replied.

"Ha! Who would invite you to a meal, a son-in-law who's just walked through the door? What a delusional dream," they sneered.

Amidst their banter, Doctor Yu and Yu Yang walked straight into the private room.
