The entire Feathered Forest Army consists of more than twenty thousand men, among whom twelve hundred are known as the Heavenly Feather Guard, also called the Heavenly Feather Guard.
During the great court assembly, they bear arms to protect the steps to the throne, and when the Emperor travels, they are the inner guard lining the processional way.
