"Strange..."
The skilled navigator from Floating Water turned his head.
In the deep silence, where not even a glimmer of light could penetrate, it was so still he could hear his own heartbeat.
He returned to the deck.
"Whew, it's really cold." The man grabbed the rope ladder, his knuckles reddened from the cold, rubbing his hands together and wrapping a dry towel around himself before huddling near the stove to warm up, "Ping, what's going on? Earlier in the water, you looked like you were suspecting ghosts at every turn, always looking back over your shoulder. What was it?"
Ping shook his head, "Didn't see anything, just felt like someone in the water was staring at us."
"Tsch, stop scaring yourself," another person sat down in the middle, "The faster your heart beats, the harder it is to hold your breath. It's easy to get waterlogged when it's cold out. If you inhale a mouthful and get a cramp, I can't save you."
