He saw her again on his phone. A near mummified corpse of cat. The cops found her in the same alleyway she ambushed him. It seemed like she took his words to heart but got killed in the process. He had breakfast, said goodbye to his parents, and immediately rushed to the crime scene. He would deal with the consequences of being late but saving a human was of higher priority.
He changed his mind a second later and ran as though his life depended on it. He ran backwards in intense regret. People reversed their actions and so did cars and everything else. Day became night as he noticed commotion everywhere. Gangsters reviving their rivals with bullets. Medics overhealing victims until they were dead. He ran and ran until he finally found Cat. She was a mummified corpse that slowly became fatter until she was nothing more then a cute kitty.
He heard her spill the beans on him and saw the strange light in the titans eyes. Then the behemoth let her go and Leo threw a hook at the monster in front of him. The concept of Space suffocated the beast as his punch sent the titan through a wall.
"Who… who are you?"
"What?? It's you? How"
The behemoth got up in a jiffy and stared at him. He remembered the words of the cat and realized who Leo was.
"So you're responsible for the deaths of my men. No need to explain, just die"
A colossal punch brought him to within an inch of death's domain. He never saw it coming. Didn't feel it either until he died. He struggled to get up but his head was groggy with his vision unclear. He stumbled and crashed into the wall.
Another punch sent him flying through 8 buildings but he didn't notice. Hours later, just before he was about to die from blood loss, the gears in his Nano-Suit began to whir again. He realized they wouldn't activate unless he was conscious so he got up and struggled. The gears whirred rapidly.
Then he started to run. Running and running until he realized that his opponent was a Warrior. An extremely strong Warrior. Even stronger then Bearhug. But stronger then him? Perhaps… not.
In his anger and despair, he had forgotten about this. So he continued to run but this time, at the very last second, he turned into a Brawler as the fire sub-affinity collided with his sea of fire mimicry to turn into Rage. The full strength of Leo Skyfang, the Enraged Warrior devoured the Beast, a subpar Warrior and sent a shockwave through his body that caused him to explode.
The resulting afterforce swept through the branch HQ as well as 90% of the remaining buildings in their territory. Over 99% of their men died in an instant. The ones that were left had pissed their pants and looked at him in despair.
Immediately, Cat jumped at him and humped his arm, crying out of affection and relief.
"Meow~~" "Purrrrrr"
Leo finally saw the crescent shaped iris in cat's pupils. She had the cutest smile and the sexiest wink. Her chest was neither too small nor too big. It was perfectly proportionate to her body. Her legs were neither thin or thick but lean.
"How did you find me?"
"I regretted my actions and ran and ran"
It was a metaphor but also the truth. However, it was a truth that would never be believed which was beneficial to him.
"Oh?"
Cat smiled with amusement and joy. She wrapped herself around him and hugged with all her might.
"Hehe. I'm too adorable right?"
He only nodded.
"I'll come visit you at the WMR academy. I need a new afterschool activity now that the organization is disbandoned"
"You're probably famous as a gangster"
"I'm not! I mostly stay in the shadows like a good kitty~ Meow~~~!"
"Do what you want. Just don't cause me trouble. Don't give me any issues on the first day or any other day!"
"Yes. Yes. Cat is obedient"
He repeated the same thing he did 'last' nigh but he had company this time. He made a detour to eat Ramen. Two for the price of one! Cat paid for her own serving. The two talked and talked until it was almost midnight.
The next morning, Leo and Cat walked to the academy but were stopped at the gate by a terrifying looking young man. The sickly boy had piercings everywhere and a nameplate.
Rocket Industries
Jayo Hindenbrook
Rocket Industries was a leading space technology company that sold private craft to governments, millionaires, and research organizations. The CEO was Jay so this was his son. Hindenbrook took a good look at Cat before approaching her.
"You. Over here. I'll give you good company until I travel overseas. Whether you're worthy of traveling with me depends entirely on your obedience"
Cat immediately struck out with a dagger. It cut his forearm open but Jayo stopped his bodyguard from interfering.
"The best women require taming. Excellent. I'll show you what I'm made of"
That only infuriated Cat and she was about to get more aggressive when Leo stopped her. This is when Jayo noticed him and became upset.
"Busybodies should scram. This doesn't concern you"
Jayo only received a fist from the Brawler in response. It was a straight punch straight to his stomach but it sent him flying several dozen feet.
When Jayo got up, he looked visibly pale and shocked.
"You… when I get serious… my reactions increase by a factor of 25 or more"
It was obvious what he meant. The Jayo that took a knife slash was literally 25 times worse than the Jayo who was sent flying dozens of feet.
"Who are you?"
"Someone who's defending my friend. If you don't get scram, it'll be worse then a punch"
Jayo had no doubt this was true so he ran.
"I'll check you out later. That girl is mine, I promise you that"
"Hey. Is that true?"
"What?"
"That I'm his?"
"Are you?"
"No. I'm yours!"
"When were you mines?"
"I want it like that!"
"So go tell him"
"He won't listen. He's clearly an idiot"
"If he bothers you again, I'll deal with it"
"No! Let me deal. So what's your first class?"
"Basics of combat"
"Hahahahahahahaha. You?"
"I have no choice but to go"
"You need those credits, correct?''
"Most of these recruits don't have experience so it's actually quite beneficial"
"Alright. Alright. Let's see what the standard of this academy is"
As they walked, women looked at Cat jealously while men looked at Leo with burning rage. The training grounds weren't that far away and when they arrived, saw Jayo once again. He was sparring with another recruit and they realized how deadly his fighting capabilities really were.
There was a variety of MMA moves and defensive postures that made him unbreakable.
"Alright. Class has officially started. Those who came early, congrats. You don't get a fucking reward. The basics of being a WMR is combat. You apply your traits in an offensive manner using Brawler mode and hope that you outclass or outmaneuver your enemy"
The class instructor and his training opponent, another class instructor, both got into place and assumed attacking postures. His fists were parallel with his waist. Her own fists were parallel with her chest. The man was a warrior while the woman was a Rogue.
They rushed at each other and immediately aimed for weaknesses or openings. Weaknesses were located based on posture, familiarity, and careless movements. Openings were weak spots in technique or counter-plays.
The Rogue had an apparent advantage over Warriors even though they were buffed by the Nano-Suit. The Warrior could unleash terrifying strength and force and the Rogue could identity points where that was the weakest and go through the danger zone with effortless ease.
The battle lasted 20 breaths before the Warrior conceded. With equal ability, there was a triangle of advantages and disadvantages. It wasn't impossible to beat the triangle but it required massive amounts of quick thinking, genius, and practical ability.
"Alright. We'll show you some moves. Practice them for half an hour and then use the remaining time to spar with a fellow WMR"
The complete lack of effort from Leo Skyfang produced mixed reactions.
Some thought he was too arrogant. Others wondered why he was in a beginner class if this was too simple for him. Jayo took advantage of the animosity by challenging him once more.
"Hey. Don't you think you're too much? If you already know all this, I'll test my skills against you"
He didn't say anything but broke into a Sprint. In a single step, he had already arrived next to Jayo. The form was rough around the edges and he almost stumbled yet he corrected himself at the very end. A brawler often starts with a right hook and transforms the motion based on the reaction of the opponent. When the fool is too slow, nothing changes but maybe the destination.
Jayo took another blow to the stomach as he stumbled back and fell on the ground. Before he hit the ground, Leo grabbed him, pulled him up, and began to run again. It was now a split second earlier and Leo kept hitting him all over the body without hesitation. Half the damage was accumulating over a period of time.
When the last punch landed on Jayo's head, the whole world looked as though they had seen a ghost.
