I'll be lying if I said that I slept well last night, in fact I stayed up almost all night and got up early as well, around 5:00 am.
" It all starts from now", I said aloud after getting out of bed.
I had my morning coffee on the balcony while getting some sunlight, and immediately went to my desk.
First I need to develop my ideas, what would the story be about? The characters, their life before and during the time that the story is taking place in, and the messages that the story would deliver.
I didn't have anything particular in mind, but I wanted to write something with a realistic theme, which will be very challenging, since most readers seek to escape from reality, and thus a realistic or slice of life story should be twice as interesting as one with a more fantastical narrative, or at least that's what I currently think.
Making characters from the ground up won't be too difficult of a task but the general idea of the story in the other hand is hard to come up with,
"Should I make a bunch on the top of my head, and pick one?"
I didn't want to waste time doing nothing, so I started making some characters, and since it's going to be a realistic story, then designing them before figuring out the story would still be fine.
By the time I finished it was 16:00, the weather was cloudy and cool air entered from my window, " guess I'll go outside for a bit" I mused, and so I took my laptop, with my notebook and some paper and headed to a café.
The interior design of the café is what made me like it on the first day. I had stumbled upon it during a stroll from the nearby park and liked it ever since. spending more time outside the house has been one of my goals lately so I'll be coming here more often in the future.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee was everywhere, and I could hear the sound of faint piano music playing in the background.
It's Chopin's Waltz No. 19 in A minor if I'm not wrong, one of my favourites.
" Welcome sir, are you ready to order? " Asked the waitress
" Yes, a black coffee, and a slice of dark chocolate shortcake please", I replied
" Good taste ! " She said with a gentle smile, " Would you like your coffee with any sugar? "
" Two pieces will be good , " I answered.
That waitress was a gentle lady in her early twenties, she's probably new here because I don't remember seeing her before, also Asato was hyped up about a new beautiful waitress, it's probably her.
While waiting for my order, a familiar face caught my eye. A beautiful girl in casual clothes walked towards me, she had pale skin, and blonde highlights in random strands of her black wavy hair.
She was the girl I met after school that day, her name was Mizuhara if I remember correctly.
Her presence added an unexpected twist to my solitary café visit.
" Is it okay if I sit next to you? " She asked.
She's not the noisy type, so it should be fine. " Sure", Ireplied.
" Here's your order ", said the waitress as she bringed the coffee and the cake, " What would you like to order? ", she asked Mizuhara with her usual gentle smile.
" Oh, you must be Kawori chan, my sister told me about you ", said Mizuhara, apparently she knew her.
" In that case you're probably Kaede's little sister Naho, she often talks about you in college", said the waitress. " So, what would you like to order? "
" I'll take a matcha latte with a slice of strawberry shortcake "
" Alright, I will be back soon", said the waitress.
" Do you come here often, Sato kun? " She asked,
" Not really, I'm thinking of visiting this place more often though "
For some reason, I was trying to hide the characters design sheets that I made,
" Oh, I've seen these before, they are character designs right? " She quired.
" You've seen them, huh. Yes, that's what they are." I replied,
" Sounds interesting, you drew them? They look good"
" Really? " I didn't want to tell a lot of people about what I'm working on, but I wasn't expecting someone to compliment my drawings.
" Yeah, they really look good, are you drawing a manga? " She asked
" No, I'm writing a story, you can say it's a novel "
" Heh, can I take a look? " She requested, looking hyped up.
" Feel free,"
The coffee was getting cold, so I took a sip and started typing on my laptop.
About half an hour later, I noticed Mizuhara gazing at me.
" Do you need something? " I asked, yet she didn't reply,
The situation was starting to get awkward, and right after I decided to resume working and ignore what happened I heard the following:
" I want to be your partner "
