"Ah!" Who would've thought we'd get such a huge crowd tonight at the club? That shift was exhausting yet strangely enjoyable. It'd be interesting if my next shift is as lively. No worries, nothing to fret about besides serving drinks to the thirsty.
"Have you seen that alleyway? Those onlookers are sharing everything on social media."
"Yeah, bet they can't last more than three days before the police show up."
I overheard the ladies as I walked past them.
"Hey, young lad!" I glanced back, spotting a middle-aged woman, and halted in my tracks.
"Yeah, miss? Is there anything I can help you with?" I inquired.
"I've noticed you returning to your house at this hour every weekend; better be careful. The neighborhood woke up not more than an hour ago. A body got dumped right by the alleyway."
She pointed towards the gathering crowd.Police and an ambulance were there.
"Oh my, was the body a woman? or a man?"
"It was a woman, so many wounds, her nails are missing." One of the onlookers joined our conversation.
"Such a horrible crime. Why would anyone do that?"
A lot of the neighborhood got out of their houses and gathered around th crime scene.
Out of curiosity, I took a quick glance of the deceased.
"Oh my!" I exclaimed.
"Do you know this woman, ma'am?" One of the officers asked.
"How would you not know her? She's Elena Harrington." I exclaimed, shocked to the core.
Elena Harrington, a rising star in the singing industry. She debuted about six months ago and a promising one too.
I can't believe somebody just killed her.
"Thank you for identifying the victim, ma'am. We are hopeless in locating her belongings." The officer said and took off to talk with his colleagues.
But how did she get here? She was supposed to have a trip in Las Vegas.
I followed her IG and knew her updates. She was suppose to have one of her shows tonight there.
I left the scene, not wanting to be questioned by authorities as I have a little of sleep to catch.
After a 2-minute walk, I have finally arrivd at my home. I immediately locked my doors and windows as soon as I stepped in, scared that the ciminal who dumped Elena there was just around.
"Maybe it's all over the internet now."
I grabbed my phone and sat on one of my kitchen stools.
I read aloud,"Elena Harrington, the rising star of New York, found dead in her city. Authorities are now investigating on who and what reason...."
I stop. It's too much information and I need a working brain for the morning.
I changed my clothes and fell on my bed...
As I slowly emerged from the depths of sleep, the soft glow of dawn filtered through the curtains, casting a warm, golden hue across the room. The faint chirping of birds outside my window served as a gentle melody, coaxing me into wakefulness. My senses gradually stirred, and I became aware of the familiar comfort of my bed, cradling me in a cocoon of warmth. With each deliberate breath, I felt the cool morning air fill my lungs, signaling the start of a new day.
"What time is it?" I took a glance at my wall clock.
"Seven thirty-two..." My work starts at 9. Gosh, I couldn't even grabbed a 5-hour sleep.
I turned on the TV, and the first thing that pops up is the murder of Elena.
"Good morning, I'm Jesse, and we begin today with a somber update from New York. The city that never sleeps has been shaken by the tragic news of the untimely death of Elena Harrington, a rising star in the literary world. Harrington, known for her captivating songs and contributions to the musical scene, was found dead earlier today in a New York alleyway. The circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation, leaving the city in shock and mourning the loss of a talented individual..."
I brewed my coffee and toast a little breas for breakfast, while listening to the news.
"... Authorities are treating this case as a homicide, and investigators are working diligently to unravel the mystery behind her tragic end. As we await more details, our hearts go out to the friends, family, and fans of Elena Harrington, who are undoubtedly grappling with the sudden loss of such a promising talent..."
After finishing my breakfast, I took a quick shower, brush my teeth and wore my office suit before locking my doors and grabbing my motorbike.
I ride a motorbike to work, it's the only shit I can afford.
As soon as I got in the office, my phone went off. It was my sister, Amelia.
"Hey, I didn't notice you got home and leaving this morning." She said on the other side.
"Well yeah. I'm working for us both and for you to finish your studies. Be careful when going home tonight, Elena Harrington died."
"What that gotta do with me?" She asked.
"Her murderer is still roaming around New York, idiot. I put your money above the oven, make sure to spend it wisely."
"Yes, of course. I never spend on bullshit things. Oh by the way, before I forget. We have something to pay by Friday. It was announced in our group chat last night so details are a bit hazy now. But, I'll tell you when I have a full grasped about it."
"Okay. Do not worry about the money, I got you. I promised mom and dad to look out on you before they pass away." I took a deep sigh. I miss my parents.
"Thank you and I love you. Be safe at work!" She said and turned the call off.
I clocked in and start my day. I am a Marketing manager at Steele Corporation.

"Gosh, how much money do they earn every day?" I ask myself as I stood in front of the elevator.
As the elevator door opeopenedns, I walked and bumped myself into someone. Luckily, I didn't fell.
"I am very so-" I was cut. Not by the words of the someone, but how majestic this someone is in front of me.
His piercing blue eyes, black hair and his tanned skin suits well on his well-built figure.
