The System became silent, not agreeing or disagreeing with Lucian's sudden claim, It was put into a difficult position. If it agreed, to being able to hear Lucian's thoughts, then it was unknown how Lucian would react. At the very least, the System knew Lucian would not react positively to his thoughts being heard. However, if the System disagreed, it would be labeled a pervert. And obviously, it was not a pervert!
