Grandma Jun sighed.

"Young Master, you aren't fit to live the life of a chef. You are someone who belongs in the clouds, while chefs are pitiful existences. Please, reconsider your path."

Lucian chuckled and placed his knife and fork down on an empty plate. He expected it from the moment he saw her hesitation.

"Did the Elders ask you to say this?"

"Yes… but it's also my true thoughts." Grandma Jun agreed straightforwardly. They were words directly from her heart. "I don't wish for the Young Master to die early. The lifespan of a Mage is almost endless if you continue to break through, but a chef's only future… is to rot away."

"Grandma Jun, are you pitiful?" Lucian suddenly asked.

"No… but," Grandma Jun hesitated. "Are you not afraid your Mage Rank will be delayed?"

"I'm not." Lucian shook his head and then stood up from his chair. "Let's talk about this some other time. I'm tired. Good night."
