Chapter 4 - CH-2 Emily or Iris[End]

"Ah, I see I'm still in a state of unconsciousness," I murmured, furrowing my brow as I couldn't recall falling asleep to find myself in this empty black void.

"Could it be that I'm… in a grave or actually deceased?" I continued, trying to make sense of my circumstances. "And here I thought my life had just started getting interesting after having that special coupon…"

Oh, dear, what a twist! Is this a novel? Well, if that's the case, I suppose this must be the afterlife.

I rubbed the bridge of my nose. Am I going to transmigrate into a protagonists' body chosen by a god, and will I have a big harem to fulfill my sexual needs?

Because I abominate such material, and boring God wants himself to prove that I'm certainly wrong on this route.

For whoever listens to me, Nah, I'm right.

Ah, Back to our topic, if only a goddess would miraculously make an appearance... That, my friend, would certainly be a turn of events!

But in all likelihood, I suppose I'd have better luck summoning the devil himself!

"Eh!" I blinked in confusion, In my vision, watching a figure appeared before me as I unconsciously muttered, "Speak of the devil, and he shall appear."

"M-Master, it's been a while." The goddess had long, golden hair flowing down to her waist, blue eyes, dressed in black attire, and she stood there, looking somewhat... youthful… At the age of sixteen.

"A child?" I thought incredulously.

Have I taken a wrong turn in a shitty story?

Please don't tell me I'm supposed to look after this youngster as the main character in this tale.

Suddenly, something clicked in my mind, and I gazed directly into the child's narrowed one. "Master? What do you mean, kiddo?"

I sought confirmation, needing to verify that I had correctly gleaned this child's words.

After all, a misinterpretation in this situation could lead to repercussions beyond imagination, Which is top priority to disentangle before any judgment in my self list.

—Mooh!

"I regret that you bear no education of who I truly am." the kid said, a childlike pout adorning her features, as she embossed me with a strength that seemed inconceivable. "I am part of your being, a system, and the fact that I can physically touch you is evidence of our connection."

… Wait — am I being lifted in the air as if my weight is virtually nothing?

Good heavens, I'm... I'm becoming transparent! A scream of disbelief ripped through my eerie silence.

Oddly enough, the shockwave was non-existent, almost as if this whole drama was my doing.

There was no fleeing from the creeping terror, yet a comforting acceptance flickered in the abyss of my heart. Yes, that was precisely it.

"Alright now!" The corners of my mouth curled into an acknowledgement smile as I addressed the situation at hand, gently patting her head.

"Let's not deal with any unnecessary misunderstanding here. If indeed I have suffered a loss of memories, wouldn't it serve us both better to profess it upfront?"

—haaa!

"Master, You are very tedious, your attitude might be the reason for your lack of any relationship. And stayed single…" A cheeky smirk jerked proudly on Child's face.

'Single.'

'tedious!'

Those two terms stabbed into my guts like pointed daggers, As a strained smile danced on my face, Mine eyelids twitched instinctively in response to the sting.

In the first place, What is this shit and how dare she even try to make me one?

"Impudent child!" I retorted, Internationally, my voice dangerously low, "What did you just utter?"

"... Ah, I-It was a joke to lighten the mood… Oh, Now, it's time for me to return your memories to you." the goddess announced after hearing my cold tune.

A bead of sweat trickled down her forehead as she shifted the conversation and placed her hands on my temple.

A burst of energy, a mix of blue and red, diffused from her hands, causing a shockwave that was shaking through my very soul.

"Ahhhhhhh!" I let out a piercing scream as my mind went blank.

The sensation was as if someone was doing an experiment with my brain, planting needles and chopping it with a sharp knife into countless fragments, as if preparing a gruesome feast.

An inundation of memories came crashing into me like an invincible tsunami.

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, as a wave of images, time lines, experience or many stuff, and subjects flooded my mind, one after the other.

It was an overloaded and worst nightmare experience if you ask me. Warning; Don't try at home!!!!

Oh, It didn't stop there as I shouted loudly in anger and repugnance after obtaining assimilation of every affairs, "Those traitors! I will annihilate every last one of them for their betrayal!"

My recollections expanded beyond my past life, And yes, I was also granted access to the memories of another soul that had transmigrated into the body of the child standing before me.

That soul had already passed away when my second soul had taken over the vessel, whereas I had been reincarnated into a new life on earth to have extra mastery of technology.

That child had suffered a painful existence prior to their death.

The previous owner of the vessel had been bullied and mistreated by the siblings of their parents due to her perceived weakness compared to the talented children.

—Tsk! Tsk!

"All of them will pay for their crimes." I clicked my tongue in disapproval as the disfigurement around me came to a halt.

I gazed at the child before me with a chilling stare. "Apologies for my sudden emotional surge, Harriet. How long have you been awaiting my arrival?"

"Worry not, Master." Harriet replied, a beaming smile came to life on her features as she tightly squeezed me, a gesture I reciprocated warmly.

A sense of affection swelled within me, because I too, have shared her absence, especially my soul.

She holds a place in my life akin to that of a progeny. Harriet is a creation from my bygone existence.

During those former years, a blackhole pervaded my life following the end of my parents.

It was loneliness that instigated the creation of Harriet. custom-built ingeniously by me, she mirrors humanity in her interactions, providing companionship that was once absent.

Having released our clinch, I lowered myself, affirming, "Don't you think it's time for us to unite as one?"
