Chapter 20 - Reconciliation

From the moment Ronald explained the whole situation about Lucia and Milo I wished I never bothered to ask, get this Lucia and Milo's family are old friends hence Lucia and Milo practically grew up together and the one that felt like a cheap blow in the nuts, was that Lucia and Milo are dating.

After all that newly received information I couldn't process it very well, it was like my mind was short circuiting or whatnot. I don't know why I feel like this it's painful.

Sure Lucia was busy with Milo and their friends and they seemed to have a lot of fun there was laugher, Milo was romantic to Lucia he was feeding her some french fries and Lucia she kept looking at my direction as if to see if I'm paying attention or not. If I wasn't she'll eat them and if I was she'll not.

"Dude, are you okay?" Ronald asked.

I know it seemed and sounded rude that I kinda ignored him, but it wasn't on purpose my mind was somewhere so I didn't hear him.

"Yo earth to Arthur, are you good bro?" Ronald shakes me.

"Oh huh?" I snapped out of it.

We went on with our conversations and we were really getting to know each other, at least if I lose one friend i gained another one. Lucia kept staring at us I wasn't staring anymore I think that might have hurt her.

School continued as usual we were in science class and about to dissect a frog, Mrs. Lakeside. That's our science teacher teamed me and Lucia together it was pretty awkward I won't lie to you.

"Hello partner" Lucia said as she was getting sitted in.

"Oh I didn't know what we were talking to each other" I said.

"I'm sorry okay I know I should have been honest with you" Lucia apologized.

It wasn't easy between us and we didn't even laugh or do anything, we just did what we came here to do science that's all. Nothing else.

"Whoa if I didn't know better I'd say you knew exactly what you were doing? said Lucia watching me as I dissect the frog.

"Thanks would you believe me if I said, I had no idea what I really doing" I said.

That seemed like a great pick up line, right... But it's not like I was lying to her you guys know my life story. Memory loss kid who apparently tried to kill himself by jumping off the building, I wasn't going to tell her all that.

"Would you mind teaching me?" Lucia asked.

"Yeah sure, it's time I passed my wisdom to someone else" I joked.

Lucia looked at me and she started to laugh.

"Yes master I agree" she continued to laugh.

Question, does anyone get full outstanding marks for dissecting a frog or it's private prestigious school thing? As you have guessed I carefully cut the frog in all the right places. There was no mess up or anything.

As Lucia asked me to teach her I did I took her hand and stood behind her, she took the knife thingy. Hey just because I knew how to use the thing it doesn't mean I know it's name I'm no doctor... We cut the frog together it was really a nice moment.

"Oh nice, give it up for Mr. Christ and Ms. Stone. You guys did a good job there's no splattering of blood a clean job, if I didn't know better I'd say that we had our own real life doctors" Mrs. Lakeside giving us a standing novation.

Class ended and though we were not good good we did manage to have a good time, everyone else left the class when it was my turn to leave too. Lucia stopped me.

"We are going to be late for math" I said.

She just kept quiet and faced the other direction, all I heard was her sniffling and saw her covering up her face.

"Hey, are you okay?" I dropped my bag.

"Why do they let us do this? Make us kill innocent animal creatures, huh?" Lucia crying.

"I don't know but do these creatures matter anyway?" I asked.

I know I know that was a bad move, but what was I meant to say.

"No! Nobody deserves this kind of punishment it doesn't matter if you are animal or human, we are all god's creation and we are one. All connected somehow" said Lucia.

I didn't know what to do I felt so useless I looked at my hands for some reason, and I felt something in my hands. When I took a deep breath everything in science class was blowing away... Lucky for me Lucia didn't see anything, she just caught the chills.

"Can we get out of here? this class is starting to give me chills" said Lucia.

"Sure" I gave her my blazer and carried her bag then we left.
