Chapter 11 - The Golden Truth

I woke up feeling like I just got hit by a truck my head was throbbing, I was pretty far from the faceless guy and his jealous loving tree. At this point everything seemed hopeless, I had no idea how on earth I will get back there.

"God help me" I said.

Oh I forgot to tell you where I landed was a cornfield, yes a cornfield that's why I said I was pretty far from the faceless guy and his tree, I couldn't see anything okay I gotta say this place just turned from the most beautiful place to the most scariest place like the ones you see in scary movies. So as you've guessed it I was covered in corn.

Would you believe me if I said I wasn't alone in those cornfields like all ordinary cornfields and normal cornfields this one also had a protector it had it's own scarecrow, a really ugly scary looking scarecrow.

I'm not going to bother you with details and tell you how it chased me across the fields and by god's grace I managed to escape in a matter of time before it caught me and do horrible things to me. Nope, not this scarecrow.

This one wasn't out for blood or anything bad this one didn't waste anyone's time mine or his, it didn't do any of that scary unnoticed creeping movements. It's eyes just glew white and it came to life.

"What are you doing here?" It asked.

Okay I know I said that this one wasn't doing all that scary thing but it's voice, wow I might get nightmares. It's voice was like it was a burnt voice because every time it spoke, it's voice was screech-y and sounded deep.

"What brings you hear?" the scarecrow continued.

"Uh please forgive me but I seem to be kinda lost" I answered uncomfortably.

"And what makes you think that you are lost?" It asked.

"Because I wasn't here before" I said.

"There isn't such a thing called being lost, you are here because you were meant to be in my field" the scarecrow said.

"Oh-kay" I said feeling uneasy.

"So I'll ask you one last time and you better answer honestly because lying will be punished" it said.

"Like I told you I am lost" I said.

"Do not lie to me! What brings you here!" It got angry.

I got so scared I didn't know what to do.

"Fine! I was helping a friend get out of a certain situation" I answered unsurely.

"Then why aren't you helping him, now?" asked the scarecrow.

"Because for the last time I am lost!" I answered getting infuriated.

"Are you?" the scarecrow sounding like an echo.

"Ye-" I didn't finish my response.

Because when I looked around I wasn't in the cornfield anymore now I was back where I was at first, next to the tree and the faceless man. For the last time I took a deep breath and decided to give it a try again.

The faceless man was now rooted to the tree I couldn't see the rest of his body just his faceless face.

I didn't know what to do anymore I was to late, I felt so guilty I just walked to the tree and touched it and I found myself crying.

I felt a heartbeat pound when I was touching the tree then everything in the forest lit up, flowers that hadn't blossomed yet blossomed, the trees that hadn't grow leaves grew back and the dried out grass suddenly got wet and became beautiful.

And in that crazy moment the guy's face glew bright it kinda blinded me and I got transported to what I believe was the guy's life. I saw the way he grew up I saw the things he went through from being beaten and graduating to become a police officer, to every single moment of his life and knowing his name too... John Deed.

I saw it all and even the things I shouldn't have seen, someone sinister and evil hovering over him and whispering things to him.

"Kill him! Kill him! Kill him!" whispers said.

They must be talking about me it's the only thing that made sense, because everyone who got turned it's because of me.

"Leave him alone!" The whole place shook and crumble when I said.

And whatever that was got burned by the white bright golden light that came from my anger.

That demon screeched as it burn.

As John Deed faints I catch him before he fell to the crumbling group, for the first time I saw his true form.

"Thank you" John Deed said as he turns to dust and fades away.

Clear shinning water appear since I was left alone in John Deed's memories and I saw myself dressed in a white robe like the ones the Greek wore during those old time, and a face appears in the water.

A Godly looking golden spirit and looked at me.

"Good work, you did well now wake up, they still need you" a thunderous voice rumbled as it smiled at me.
