Chapter 115 - Chapter 114 - Negotiating with the Bank.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

London.

...

...

Snape approached the room where the manager had summoned him, finding himself once again in a VIP area, filled with luxury, as the man seated in front of him gave a cautious look.

"Mr. Snape... it's a great honor to see you again. I hope you've been well these past few months without visiting this bank... Furthermore, I noticed you haven't made any more deposits, yet we are still taking great care of your funds," he began, though it was obvious they weren't particularly pleased to see Snape again.

Still, he was somewhat surprised by the care the goblin showed for his account, sensing the goblin's sincerity, just as he had hoped to convey.

"I've been very busy... but that's beside the point. Has there been any maintenance fee on my account?" Snape asked, staring at him as the goblin shrank slightly, showing fear.

"Of course not! You're a VIP client and always have certain privileges. Maintenance fees are waived for you, exempt from any Gringotts charges," he said, trying to maintain formal composure, and Snape nodded, satisfied. He couldn't deny how beneficial this was for him.

Even so, Snape was surprised at how these people treated him, and he quickly moved to a topic he had come to discuss with them. But first...

"That's good, but I have a transfer order from this account to mine with this amount," Snape said, handing over a paper from his inventory with the shop owner's signature and the order for his potion sale.

The goblin carefully took the order and read it, nodding. He wasn't surprised by a withdrawal order for 200,000 Galleons, considering Snape already had 100,000 in his account. But he'd have to exempt him from the usual transfer fees, not wanting to offend this client, however much he loved the gold that might come from it.

"We can do this immediately, Mr. Snape! Moreover, we won't charge you anything for it," he said as Snape nodded in agreement.

"That's good," was all Snape commented.

"Excellent. I'll have them complete it immediately." The goblin tried to appear cheerful, but as a goblin, he failed miserably, rising from his chair and exiting through the door, leaving Snape to wait.

He returned shortly afterward, assigning a goblin to handle the transfer, then coming back to continue attending to Snape.

"I'm glad for your trust in our bank, Mr. Snape. It's always a pleasure," he commented.

Snape nodded, trusting they would handle it, as he would need the funds in the coming weeks. "Very well. Another matter I wanted to discuss with you is about a specific material that only you could provide..." Snape mentioned.

"And what would that be, Mr. Snape?" the goblin asked, curious.

"Simple. I need goblin metal... I need to construct a sword, and I'd like for you to forge it as well," Snape requested, while the goblin looked surprised.

"You want our blacksmithing services... but..." He was clearly about to refuse, as it had been centuries since they had forged anything. Yet, when he looked at Snape, he felt a certain fear, as if refusing could cost him his life.

"I... would have to think about it, Mr. Snape... we haven't done this in a very long time, and I fear the quality might not meet your expectations... for when do you need it...?" he asked cautiously.

"In two months..." Snape replied, noticing they didn't look very pleased with this timeline.

"That..." The goblin seemed a bit lost but sighed. "I can't guarantee it... but we'll do our best to meet your needs, Mr. Snape," he said, while Snape raised an eyebrow at the effort these creatures, known for being anything but friendly, were making.

"Very well, and how much will this cost?" Snape asked, but the goblin didn't raise his hand.

"The only thing we will charge you for is the magical metal. I hope you have the other resources for the sword. May I see the design and analyze it?" he asked, and Severus handed him the paper with the sword he intended to create.

"Very well... I assume you have the other materials, correct?" he asked politely, as Snape nodded in confirmation.

"Yes... I've already had them brought to me. The only things missing are the metal and the forging of the sword," he said.

"As I said, we would only need payment for the metal. As for crafting the sword... it will be free of charge," the goblin stated, surprising Snape.

"Thank you... I suppose," Snape replied to the goblin.

"Is there anything else we can assist you with?" the goblin asked.

"Yes... first, I have this document here, which removes my father's association with anything that belongs to me," Snape said, handing over a letter signed with a blood quill by his father.

"Yes... we'll handle the registry," the goblin said, taking the letter.

"There's one more thing... I'd like to discuss a loan for an endeavor," Snape said, as he pulled out a scroll and showed it to the goblin.

"You're planning to create a potions franchise?" the goblin asked, looking over Snape's proposal.

"Yes. I assure you, I'll repay everything with interest," Snape responded.

"And when would you need it?" the goblin asked.

"About 300,000 Galleons should be sufficient," Snape answered.

"That can be arranged... but I can't exempt you from interest. Is that acceptable?" he asked, and Severus wondered if the goblin was trying to offer everything free of charge.

"That's fine. I planned to pay interest regardless," Snape replied, as if it were obvious.

"Then we will do everything we can... Gringotts does not wish to disappoint you," the goblin said, and Snape nodded.

"I'll be arranging some things over the next few weeks and will return when business starts, as soon as I need the funds," he said, and the goblin nodded.

In the end, Snape left the room with the goblin escorting him to the door. The bank entrance was once again filled with wizards waiting for their turn, gossiping among themselves, while a goblin sat high up at the counter, scribbling down requests from clients with a bored expression, often speaking tersely to the wizards waiting.

Naturally, Snape's exit, alongside the manager from a VIP room, caught some attention. But he paid it no mind, heading straight for the entrance. However, just then, a platinum-haired man stopped him.

"Severus Snape!" Abraxas Malfoy called out, and Snape looked over, recognizing the Malfoy family patriarch.

"Yes?" Snape replied with an impatient tone, refraining from addressing the man by name. He knew who Malfoy was; he'd once been invited to Malfoy Manor by Lucius, who believed Snape was malleable enough to join the Death Eaters simply to impress Lily.

The man scowled at Snape's curt response but sighed before speaking again. "I know what happened between you and Lucius, Snape. But you don't seem to realize that you're stepping into dangerous territory," he cautioned, sensing an opportunity to finally convince him to join their side.

"I've already given your son my answer, Mr. Malfoy. I don't believe there's anything more to discuss on the matter," Snape said calmly, holding his gaze.

"Are you certain?" the older man pressed. "You've made enemies of many people, Snape, and that's very dangerous. I can still protect you, even after everything. You could still be useful to the cause," he said, recognizing the potential in Snape as a potioneer in support of the Dark Lord. He refrained from speaking openly, as others nearby were listening. Still, the implication was clear between them as they discussed Voldemort's side.

"My answer remains no. And do not trouble me further," Snape replied simply, beginning to walk away. But he felt a hand gripping his shoulder firmly, as Malfoy tried to hold him back. Annoyed by the gesture, Snape readied himself to retaliate against the man right then and there.

However, the bank manager, who was still in the room, quickly intervened.

"Mr. Malfoy, I ask that you remove your hands from Severus Snape. Otherwise, you will be expelled from the bank and lose all rights at this institution!" the manager said in a stern and severe tone.

"What do you mean by that?" Malfoy quickly turned to face the manager, surprised by such words.

"Mr. Snape, whom you are treating improperly, is a VIP client of the bank. So, I ask that you respect him while within these walls!" he said.

"VIP client?" Malfoy couldn't help but be even more surprised. "But I am also a VIP client!" he complained immediately.

"However, Mr. Malfoy, Snape is an even higher-tier VIP client than you!" the manager replied, leaving Malfoy further astonished.

"How is that possible?" he murmured, looking at Snape, never having seen a goblin defend someone in this way.

"I will not repeat myself, Mr. Malfoy. Leave my client in peace. Otherwise..." the manager threatened once more, and Malfoy was forced to release his grip, still stunned by everything.

Snape, with a slightly surprised expression, decided to move forward, leaving the place and the bewildered man behind, while the manager watched him with firm eyes.

Once he left the bank, Snape simply disappeared to avoid being followed, but he did not head to another part of Diagon Alley. Instead, he ventured into the streets of London, making his way directly to the travel agency he had used previously.

Upon entering, he was quickly recognized and received special treatment, just as he had the first time. He chose the same destination as his first holiday, and upon boarding the bus, he was once again on his way to one of England's remote corners.

Upon arrival, he was greeted by the same elderly man who awaited him with a car, just as he had a year before.

"Mr. Snape, it's good to see you again! I was surprised when I received the message from the agency informing me you would be renting the same house once more. It would be an honor to continue assisting you with your holiday!" he said with a warm smile, while Snape greeted him and got into the car. They drove to the hill where the house he so admired remained, untouched in its usual spot.

Snape appreciated that place, which is why he returned, but this time with a different purpose.

"May I ask a question?" Snape spoke, catching the man's attention.

"Of course, sir. What would you like?" the man responded politely.

"Well, what I desire is this house. I want to buy it," Snape said, looking at the place that could become his primary base after this holiday.
