Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Nacht Der Untoten

Shizuka, Rei, Jasmine, Lois, Saeko, and Yuriko exited the Humvee, stretching their legs. "It's getting cramped in there," Shizuka remarked, adjusting her outfit.

"There is a lot of stuff in the vehicle right now," Rei replied, glancing at the crowded interior.

"She still moves very fast," Saeko added, admiring the Humvee's performance.

"She is strong," Jasmine agreed, nodding.

Yuriko hugged the Jackal tightly to her chest. Lois noticed and commented, "You held that gun close to you the entire ride. You seem really attached to it."

"I am. It feels special," Yuriko said softly.

"It was someone special," Jasmine responded, understanding the sentiment.

"It was," Yuriko agreed. She felt her emotions were in turmoil. She had just lost her husband, and the thought of moving on so soon was bittersweet. Yet, being around James and the others gave her a sense of hope and belonging. Especially James, she thought.

James and Saya got off the bike. "Are you okay?" James asked Saya, concerned.

"With your driving? No," Saya replied.

James approached her and gently held her hands. "I will always be there to protect you," he said earnestly.

Saya blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and warmth. "Stay focused," she replied, turning her face away to hide her reddening cheeks. James found her reaction to be cute and couldn't help but smile.

"James, we are here," Jasmine waved. The group got together. They looked around and saw a creepy building in front of them.

"So there is a part here?" Saya asked.

"Yes, there are two parts in Nacht Der Untoten," James replied.

"Nacht?" Jasmine asked.

"Why is it called that?" Yuriko asked. "Everything else has been American themed so far," she added.

"I think this has been teleported here," James replied. He could not remember what the exact reason was.

"That sounds crazy," Rei replied.

"Let's go and get it," James said.

"Should someone stay near the vehicles?" Lois asked.

"We are right here, so we can rush back," James replied. They all nodded and headed inside the facility. Rei and Lois took the lead. They both raised their M4W and entered the building together, shoulder to shoulder. Rei looked to the right, Lois looked to the left. They scanned the building and found it was empty. They entered the building.

James followed suit and looked as the door to the mystery box room was blocked. He saw the staircase had completely collapsed and there was no way up. He looked further on and saw the two windows, one near the staircase and one the far side of the room were both blocked. The place only had two entrances, he thought.

"Clear," Lois said.

"This place seems quiet," Shizuka said, yawning.

James walked up to a table nearby. There was a thick pile of dust sitting on the table. He looked and found the handle. He thought, perfect. "I got one," James said.

"Looks like a rusty handle," Rei replied.

"All these parts look like they are for the junkyard but then create something out of this world," Saya added.

"It's for the Jet Gun, a weapon with unlimited ammo and power to kill zombies," James responded.

"It does sound like we already have that," Yuriko said.

"More the merrier," James added.

James walked to a shelf which was bent. It looked like it was falling apart. He saw on one of the shelves there was a radio. The radio was a rectangle object with two large circular knobs on the front. There were a few numbers on the front. James grabbed and held it under his arm.

"Got the second part as well," James said, holding up a piece of equipment.

"That was quick," Rei remarked, impressed.

"Is that a radio?" Saya asked, eyeing the device.

"Yes, it is for the Nav card machine," James replied. "This should boost the signal to get us out of here," she added.

"So, are we leaving now?" Jasmine asked.

James looked around at everyone. They all appeared exhausted. He thought it had been a long day. "Actually, why don't we stay here for a bit?" James suggested. "This place only has two entrances. We can use the turrets to set up a perimeter," he added.

"Shouldn't we keep going?" Lois asked.

"This place is far from safe," Yuriko added, her eyes scanning the surroundings.

"It is, but we're all getting tired now. Some rest will do us wonders," James insisted.

"I agree. We should get some rest and a quick nap, doctor's orders," Shizuka responded, looking at Ben and winking. James thought she had a mischievous smile.

Saeko nodded, "We need to be at our best to face what's ahead."

"It's not the worse idea," Saya confirmed.

"Alright, let's set up camp here for the night," James decided. They all nodded.

They all headed outside again. James put the handle and radio in the Humvee. He heard the perk jingle going in the background. James walked up to the back of the Humvee where he saw Lois and Yuriko unload the four turrets.

"Jasmine, Saya, can you set the Claymores down," James said.

"Okay," Jasmine responded.

"Sure but I was going to do it anyway," Saya responded as they both left with the Claymores. It had multiplied. Saya and Jasmine put the Claymore down in areas around the facility. James thought Saya was smart and figured out how they worked.

As the turrets were unloaded, Rei and Saeko wheeled them off closer to the facility. "We will set these two near the entrance," Rei said. James nodded.

James then helped to unload the Turbine. He carried them both to Saeko and Rei positions. He planted them each down. The Turbine started to spin and generate electricity. The RPD turret which was facing down suddenly moved up. "Someone is alive," Rei remarked.

"He certainly is," Saeko said. The turret started to scan around. James thought there was a possibility of friendly fire.

"Let's avoid the arc," James stated.

They both nodded. He walked back to the Humvee. "Shizuka, could you park the Humvee close to the building?" James asked.

"Sure," she responded. They moved the bikes and the Humvee close to the building. The two turrets were guarding the entrances and Saya and Jasmine had placed the claymore down. They kept one in the Humvee so it could be stock up.

Shizuka left the Humvee with a large bag. "I found tents so we can stay in here," Shizuka said. She skipped over to James.

"It would be like camping," Rei replied.

"In a horror movie," Saya said.

"Mommy will protect you Saya," Yuriko said.

"And I will as well," James stated.

"I don't need anyone's protection," Saya said. Lois and Rei giggled. Saeko smiled.

"Let's set up the tents and I can be on guard duty," James responded.

"Let me do that Danna-sama," Saeko volunteered.

"We can take shifts," Rei responded.

"That is a good idea," James replied.
