Wayne had Saina come over to assist with the experiment, incidentally proving to her that he really was conducting research. If successful, Saina could find her way back to herself.
Well, perhaps not entirely to herself, but surely in a better state than she was in now.
Saina did not take these words to heart, acutely aware of her own condition: she was a goner, beyond salvation, and even if miraculously saved, her life would still be ruined.
Since she was a lost cause either way, why bother wasting time?
Besides, she didn't harbor any expectations.
