Jethro came.
Just a few days of not seeing each other, and Jethro seemed to have aged several years.
After inviting Jethro to sit down with all due formality, Yang Yi didn't beat around the bush. At this point, it was best to speak directly.
"Jethro, there's something I've wanted to tell you for a while but never had the chance. Now that you're here, it's a good opportunity to speak my mind."
Jethro glanced at Yang Yi. Gone were the respectful greetings, calling him boss; now he just called him by his name.
People have to adapt to new environments.
Jethro said calmly, "Say whatever you want to say."
Yang Yi sighed. After hesitating for a moment, he finally said earnestly, "I'm sorry."
Jethro looked askance but said nothing.
Yang Yi continued earnestly, "I was by your side to gather intelligence. In short, I was an undercover agent."
In a low voice, Jethro said, "You've already said that. There's no need to repeat it."
