Yi suddenly spotted the knife, and indeed he was startled, but his movements didn't slow down.
Striking more quickly than his opponent could react, before the man in front of him could stab with the knife, Yi had already landed a punch on the black inmate's eye, then he launched a kick to the man's knee. As the man leaned forward, Yi brutally punched him again in the temple.
With a flurry of sounds, Yi fought while retreating, taking down anyone he encountered without even knowing how many he had laid out, until he realized that suddenly there was no one in front of him—all the attackers were down on the ground.
Fighting for real was much more exhausting than training. Yi's physical condition couldn't be said to be particularly strong, but definitely not weak; yet he was now panting heavily, unable to catch his breath.
