Late at night, Marvin fished out a key and unlocked the door to the grocery store.
Nearly a month away, the store was covered in dust, everything arranged just as he had left it, silent and quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
Gurgle...
Gurgle...
An invisible tentacle rested on Marvin's shoulder, winding around his body, lifting him up, as waves of joy were conveyed.
"Muriel, we're back."
Muriel had always obeyed orders, guarding the grocery store—it was perfectly suited to keep watch, as thieves could never spot it.
"This is your reward."
Patting Muriel's tentacle, letting it set him down, Marvin took out an iron box from his bosom and tossed two cucumber seeds to Muriel. These seeds were brought over by Luojin; although they had some of his saliva on them, Muriel probably wouldn't mind that little problem.
The cucumber seeds disappeared in an instant, devoured by Muriel, who immediately followed Marvin and the others to the storage room.
