"Your Highness, I think Nicholas must have memorized the speech," Stuart offered reassuringly. "The script is long, but it's not impossible to learn by heart if one is dedicated."
The Second Prince did not utter a word. After months of interaction, he had come to understand Marvin, who always managed to surprise him when least expected.
To discard the prepared speech and improvise on the spot...

"What are legislators?"
On the stage, Marvin began to speak, holding a tin horn, his voice spreading outwards: "Ladies and gentlemen, please ponder this question, what should legislators do for the public?"
Not waiting for people below the stage to ponder, Marvin immediately said, "Is it to line their pockets with the authority they hold?"
"Is it to deceive the public under false pretenses to gain support?"
"Is it to sit properly dressed in expensive handmade attire in the assembly hall, waving handkerchiefs?"
