In the dark alley, Raymond fell onto his backside, watching Marvin and his companions leave with a look of extreme panic in his eyes.
He wasn't religious, how many ruffians roaming the streets were?

Raymond glanced again at the wall covered with cracks and, for the first time, began to doubt his previous thoughts.
