The gas lamp hanging on the wall emitted bursts of light, illuminating the entire dining room and making it bright and splendid. Baron Frederick elegantly sliced off a piece of steak and stuffed it into his mouth, his gaze drifting across to Marvin seated directly opposite him.
Besides Baron Frederick, Stuart and his fiancée Abigail, and Mr. Smith, Marvin and a few others were also invited to the dinner. To demonstrate the seriousness of the host family, Baron Frederick even invited his own wife and the wife of his eldest son Kirani to join the event.
