The rise of the Manshtein family dates back three hundred years, and like other ancient Junker families, they capitalized on their monopoly of military and political roles, and held sway over national leadership until a few decades ago when the Kingdom of Frederick was thoroughly defeated by Napoleon Bonaparte, leading to the Junker nobility's decline.
The Manshtein family was among the first of the declining Junker nobility. In the war, the family's members perished, and with the enactment of the "October Edicts," "Urban Regulations," and other policies after the war, they lost their esteemed status and became the first victims of the reforms. Eventually, they ended up settling in Saxony State.
