In the bedroom, Katerina Romanov sat in front of a dressing table, wearing a blue and white dress embedded with diamonds, as she picked up a pair of pendant earrings from the table.
Behind her, her personal maid Marusa was combing through her hair, tying it up into a high bun and applying her makeup.
His Majesty Paul the First had died, the Kingdom Army had retreated to the border in defeat, and Katerina had become the first in line to the throne. Her coronation was something everyone was anticipating.
"Your Highness, you look stunning."
As Marusa was pinning up Katerina's hair, she smiled and said, "There's no telling how many people will be captivated by you."
