March 10th, the streets of Qiuming City were lonelier than they had been in previous days.
The war had ended, and King Paul I had set out on his journey back to the capital, Petersburg. Winter was also drawing to a close, and refugees were packing up, embarking on the road back to their hometowns.
Besides the "Prohibition Order", the "Wartime Act", which restricted the refugees' travel, was also lifted with the end of the war. Swarms of refugees left the large city with their families, forming a huge exodus moving westward.
They would have to cross over the Ural Mountains and traverse the Volga River before reaching their homes on the Western Plains.
It was a long journey, and with the railways wrecked, the refugees couldn't return by train as they had come. They trudged through the chilling winds along the railway lines, and although the weather was still cold, it had warmed up considerably compared to the previous months.
