Zheng Tan stayed up in the tree, the cat below as well as another in the distance with a somewhat familiar voice were calling out, as if summoning their comrades. Zheng Tan wanted to howl too, but he knew that if he let out a loud howl, it was likely that the East District courtyard would erupt in chaos. So he refrained. He didn't want to stir up trouble over there, where troublemakers were aplenty—if provoked, there would be no peace that night.
Rustling sounds were already spreading around him, and Zheng Tan glanced down to see that roughly four more cats had arrived, judging by how these cats ran, they didn't seem to be injured, so it was possible that they were not from the group that had been there a few days before. The Cat Tamer they hadn't yet encountered likely had more than just two or three cats under his command.
It might not be the same group as last time, but Zheng Tan still held a grudge against them.
One against five?
