"The Rasputins never reveal secrets."
This was the family maxim of the Rasputin lineage.
And they abided by it.
This ancient family, with elven blood in their veins and existing since the Third Era, had never had a single member who voluntarily disclosed any secrets.
They remembered firmly not just others' Curse Bindings and the secrets between gods, but even any jokes among friends saying, "I need you to keep this a secret," and they would never forget, never reveal.
It was less of a family maxim than a curse that flowed in their blood.
But it was precisely because of their loyalty to this vow.
In the Winter Duchy alone, the Rasputins controlled more than one-fifth of the Transcendents' Curse Bindings... When Transcendents lacked a trustworthy "keeper of secrets," they would look to the Rasputins first. Some foreign Transcendents even made special trips to the Winter Duchy just to have the Rasputins keep their secrets.
The secrecy lasted until either of the two parties died.
