More than half of the tunnel was embedded within the seabed—it wasn't a hemispherical tunnel but one with vertically hanging sides and an arched bridge that spanned the top in an inverted U-shape.
The seabed, composed more of carcasses and excrement than soil, shone with a light much more intense than it had been in the deep diving layer. The crystal wall, polished to near smoothness by the pressure of the deep sea, was so sturdy that it could even withstand the formidable pressure at the bottom of the ocean.
This winding, noisy "light dragon" had long since scattered any approaching seabed creatures.
