Hailstones hammered down on the city park, now resembling a vast lake, stirring up countless splashes of water.
The air, though somewhat stuffy, hardly felt cool.

The dark, dense clouds and heavy rain plunged Lan City, though it was only four o'clock, into premature darkness.
With no power in the boutique mall, there was naturally no lighting; even the emergency fluorescents couldn't dispel the pitch-blackness inside.
The mall was very quiet, save for the occasional crisp sound of collisions coming from some corners, and some odd, sporadic noises from the other side of a wall.
"Is it here?" a very light voice said.
"That's right, it's behind that door, in the storage room," another voice, sounding like a woman's, said.
"Damn, this cop's life is really tough, shot and jumped into the river, and still, he's freaking alive." a very gruff voice said.
