The sunshine spilled across the campus, and under the greenery of the banyan trees, three students were quarreling.
Ji Yun tossed the broken camera to Luo Yao.
Luo Yao, gritting his teeth and with a vicious expression, dared not lash out.
"Ji Yun, thank you..." Qiu Mo said.
"No need, I have other matters to attend to, next time we can kiss... oh, next time we'll talk." Ji Yun waved his hand and said.
He deliberately waited at the snack bar for a while, waiting for the collusion between Luo Yao and Jiang Hua.
Having finally achieved his academic goals, it was time for Ji Yun to test the fruits of his success.
Moreover, Ji Yun wanted to see whether, if he stopped the incident where Jiang Hua and Chin Feng crippled someone two years later, he would lead a different life.
Would he at least get into a university?
Glancing at his watch.
The time was just about right, Ji Yun sauntered toward the smoking corner with an air of nonchalance.
"What's this crap, other grades will think I can't afford it if they see it, take them, take them, a pack for each person, a pack for each brother that came with me!" Brown-haired Huang Xin, bolstered by the collusion fee from Luo Yao, flaunted his wealth!
Ji Yun slowly made his way over, and when Jiang Hua saw him, his eyes suddenly lit up.
"Ji Yun, Wu Kai, you're just in time, help me watch the stand." Jiang Hua hastily greeted.
Ji Yun looked back and noticed that Wu Kai had also made his way over at some point.
Wu Kai's appearance was not much of a surprise to Ji Yun.
The guy was a smoker, too.
Probably when he saw Ji Yun heading to the smoking corner, his own craving kicked in and he gave up playing soccer.
With one more person, Huang Xin, with his brown hair, felt a tad more hesitant.
And since Wu Kai was tall and burly, it would probably take a few more brothers to take him down.
However, as Chin Feng and his group started walking toward the smoking corner, Huang Xin's eyes lit up again, and he began to make trouble following the plan he had thought up beforehand.
"Damn it, this cigarette doesn't taste right!"
"Brother Xin, could it be a fake?"
Huang Xin and his lackeys had begun their act.
"Selling us fake cigarettes, are you asking to die?!" Huang Xin grabbed Ji Yun by the collar, his face twisted with menace.
Wu Kai shoved the arrogant Huang Xin away in a single movement, pointing at his nose and said, "What the hell do you mean, picking on my brother, huh?"
"Everyone knows you hang out with Jiang Hua, if he's selling fakes, you must be in on it too." Huang Xin also pointed at Wu Kai's nose and cursed.
"Jiang Hua is my brother too, he wouldn't sell fakes, we smoke them without any issues!" Wu Kai retorted.
At this moment, Chin Feng and his group, with hands in their pockets, walked over, seeing a fight about to start, their eyes immediately sparkled with interest, as though the boring school life finally had some excitement.
"Brother Feng, Brother Feng, these two kids are selling us fake cigarettes!" Huang Xin immediately told Chin Feng.
"Heh heh, why waste our breath with them, just beat them up," Chin Feng smiled and said.
"Dare to touch us and see what happens!" Wu Kai was not one to be trifled with, immediately adopting a stance ready to battle.
"In this school, there is no one I dare not touch." Chin Feng limbered up his body and pressed forward, his arrogant and unruly face getting right up in front of Ji Yun and Wu Kai!
"Chin Feng, right." Ji Yun was relatively calm.
"You know me?" Chin Feng asked with a tilted mouth.
"If you want to fight, there's no need to make up an excuse about fake cigarettes. Today is Vice Principal Wang's inspection day, he'll probably be here soon, and whoever wins the fight will end up with a disciplinary record, so why bother?" Ji Yun said.
"You think we brothers are afraid of a disciplinary record? Collecting different records would be the perfect excuse to drop out and live freely!" Huang Xin said.
"What I mean is, when Vice Principal Wang arrives, everyone will be in trouble. Isn't there a Martial Arts Hall over there? Let's go up and fight. When Vice Principal Wang arrives, we just say we're practicing martial arts, what can he do to us??" Ji Yun suggested.
Huang Xin looked confused, not understanding what Ji Yun was plotting.
But Chin Feng thought Ji Yun's idea was excellent.
A fight out in the open!
The teachers couldn't interfere!
"Alright, that's a good idea. Guys, upstairs!" Chin Feng, previously downcast, suddenly seemed revitalized.
They pushed open the door of the Martial Arts Hall, where Shen Cangcang was inside packing up her things. Likely no one had been there to spar with her, so she was planning to leave.
"What are you guys doing here?" Shen Cangcang puffed out her cheeks, looking at the crowd of rough-looking youths.
"Elder Sister Cang Cang, you're here. Nothing much, just sparring a bit with this young brother," Chin Feng said with a smile.
The Martial Arts Hall was open to all students of Lixue Middle School, and though Shen Cangcang was really not happy inside, not wanting these smoke addicts to taint her training ground,
if they insisted on using it, there was nothing Shen Cangcang could do to stop them, so she could only say coldly, "If you want to fight, do it outside the school, don't dirty my place!"
"We're just having a friendly spar, right, that guy... who... who..." Chin Feng said, gesturing at Ji Yun.
"Ji Yun, his name's Ji Yun," Huang Xin chimed in, now playing the role of a sycophant.
Chin Feng's notoriety at Lixue Middle School was due in part to his years of martial arts training, wasn't it?
Three or four people would never be able to restrain Chin Feng, the fierce dog, and he knew exactly what techniques to use to make his opponent suffer!
"Right, a friendly spar," Ji Yun nodded.
"If that's the case, then let's do it by the rules. Everyone, go sit outside the field," Shen Cangcang commanded the group of troubled youths with an air of authority, showing not the slightest hint of fear.
"Elder Sister Cang Cang has spoken, what are you staring at? Behave yourselves here!" Chin Feng said with a smile, scolding the members of the Love Burial Group surrounding him.
The members of the Love Burial Group had never seen Chin Feng being so courteous to a girl before. Since their boss had spoken, they seated themselves obediently on the mats around the perimeter of the field.
These guys had no sense of how to sit properly, some even semi-reclining; the more Shen Cangcang looked, the less she liked it. She hadn't trained today and wanted to kick them all over in one go!
"This is not a place for brawling. If you want to fight, it's one on one," Shen Cangcang said, taking charge as the president of the Lixue Martial Arts Club.
"No problem with that; I don't like ganging up on people either," Chin Feng nodded, expressing his full agreement.
"That won't do..." Huang Xin immediately objected.
Street youth rely on swarming in numbers; whoever has the most people gets to call the shots.
"I'm short on time, so let's do this: you three come on at once, and let's try to finish by 10:20," Ji Yun said, checking the time.
"You sure are cocky!" said the student with a chubby face at this moment.
"Then you, come up first. If anyone else is dissatisfied, they can join in too," Ji Yun pointed at the chubby-faced guy, issuing the challenge with full confidence.
"I was giving you face!" the chubby-faced student stood up immediately and said, "Brother Xin, Brother Feng, let me be the first to teach this kid a lesson for you!"
The chubby-faced student came forward. He didn't abide by any street etiquette and directly raised his hefty leg to kick toward Ji Yun's midsection.
With his ample weight, his leg strength could hurt some of the thinner students, and on the street, he was known to take a punch; he often roamed internet cafes alone.
"You're full of openings, hmph," Shen Cangcang said disdainfully.
As a professional martial artist, Shen Cangcang instinctively simulated how she would respond.
Such kicks, with poor balance and no sense of distance, usually wouldn't require her to move; she just needed to lift her other foot and kick directly into the opponent's chest!
"Whack!!!!"
A side kick, clean and sharp!
Ji Yun held the kicking pose, not moving an inch, while the chubby troublemaker was sent reeling backward and ended up flat on his back on the ground!!
Wu Kai, who was particularly worried, opened his mouth so wide in shock that it could fit two light bulbs!
Shen Cangcang's eyes suddenly sharpened, and she began to scrutinize the boy intently, narrowing her eyes.
The level of that kick was almost professional, and the force was impressive; the chubby kid wouldn't be getting up anytime soon.
An expert!
There was actually an expert at Lixue Middle School.
"What a disgrace, get off the field!" Huang Xin immediately burst out swearing.
The pain in the chubby student's chest was severe, and he even experienced brief suffocation on the ground, his vision going black for a while.
Once he recovered a bit, he wobbled off the field like a toppled sow.
"How much did Luo Yao pay you to give me trouble?" Ji Yun pointed at Huang Xin, with a provocatively taunting tone.
"I just don't like your face!" Huang Xin retorted.
"Fine, come up here then. You're allowed to call a few more people too," Ji Yun said.
"You said it, don't regret it now!" Huang Xin quickly called up his two best fighters.
Love Burial Group, who talks about martial morality with you?
It's about having more brothers and ganging up to target the loners!
Huang Xin and the other two husky youths stepped forward.
Seeing this, Wu Kai wasn't happy and was about to get up too.
"I can handle it, relax," Ji Yun assured Wu Kai.
After some persuasion, Wu Kai finally sat down, but he was ready to rush in if Ji Yun got into trouble.
One against three, without real skills, it would be impossible to win.
But this time, Ji Yun didn't opt for a passive defense; instead, he burst into a sudden sprint before the three could react!
His fist, hard as rock, repeatedly slammed into Huang Xin.
Huang Xin was forced to retreat, while his two stunned friends failed to grab hold of Ji Yun!
Huang Xin was cornered and pummeled by fists before Ji Yun turned his attention to the other two.
With one punch to the stomach of each, they couldn't withstand it at all.
While Ji Yun was laying into Huang Xin, their punches landed on Ji Yun as well, which barely affected him, as if they were giving him a massage. In contrast, Ji Yun's punches hit their bellies hard, causing them to sweat profusely with pain!
"Get lost!"
After shouting fiercely at the two guys, Ji Yun charged toward Huang Xin!
He swung his fists in a flurry, practically riding on the opponent's face with fury.
"Seeing me in a bad light — who gave you the guts to look at me that way??" Ji Yun cursed as he beat him.
"Not... I..." Huang Xin tried to explain, but the punches kept falling, and those included several rather loud slaps.
"Interrupting my good time, I could've been scoring — get it!" Ji Yun clenched his grievances in the fray.
Huang Xin was close to getting beaten senseless!
He just took a little money to do a job; how could there be such animosity??
